INSTALLATION GUIDE

• UP Model S Autobahn Diffuser
• Adhesive Promoter (x3)
• 4mm allen bolt (x2)
• Speed nut (x2)

Note: Keep in mind that if you have paint protection products on your vehicle such as Ceramic Coating, Paint Protection film, or any other protective coating that may reduce a proper adhesive bond MUST be removed in the areas where the adhesive makes contact with the vehicle. Failure to remove paint protection materials prior to installation may lead to accelerated failure of the adhesive bond, and damage the product. Improper installation of this product is not covered by our limited parts warranty. Be sure to inspect the lip for potential shipping damage immediately after delivery. Report any damages to Unplugged Performance, and the carrier if applicable. 

• Microfiber cloths

• I understand and agree that this product is intended to be installed for use on private roads and in jurisdictions where the use of this product is deemed legal by the local authorities. Furthermore, I understand and agree Unplugged Performance does not have any knowledge or control of regulations in my local jurisdiction, and it is up to me to determine if the product is acceptable for use with my vehicle.
• I understand that Unplugged Performance has done testing of this product on road and on closed racetracks but does not have the ability to test the vehicle for localized standards and regulations.
• I understand and agree that if the vehicle manufacturer determines that any Unplugged Performance products have contributed to a problem with the vehicle it may affect the vehicle’s warranty. Furthermore, I understand and agree that Unplugged Performance has no duty nor ability to be involved in internal manufacturer decisions.
• I understand and agree that if this product is given to an installer for installation on my vehicle, I have read and agreed with all the previous, even if I am not personally installing these parts on my vehicle. Furthermore, I understand and agree that this product should be installed by a trained professional that is familiar with both the vehicle as well as this product. Furthermore, I understand and agree that I and/or my chosen installer will follow the installation instructions carefully and dutifully test the vehicle post-installation in a safe and controlled environment to ensure proper operation.

Before lifting the vehicle into the air, be sure to place the vehicle into jack mode to prevent over inflating your factory air suspension system. Then, using a vehicle lift, lift the vehicle.

Using a clip removal tool, remove the 1 push clip that secures the factory diffuser to the factory undershield.

Using a clip removal tool, remove 2 push clips securing each side of the factory diffuser to each fender liner.

Pull down on each corner of the factory diffuser near wheel wells to install a provided speed nut as shown below.

Place the front diffuser on the front facia and adjust placement until fitment meets expectations. Note: Fitment can vary from vehicle to vehicle, so be sure not to remove the backing tape on the 3m adhesive until you have confirmed the lip fits the vehicle to your liking. This is much easier to do with multiple people so that one person can check the general fitment on both sides as the other person holds the lip to the vehicle. Be sure to check that the depth is even at the wheel wells, otherwise your fitment may not come out as intended.

Using the provided bolts and previously installed speed nuts, thread each bolt by hand to verify that the predrilled holes in the UP front diffuser line up with the factory mounting positions underneath the vehicle. These bolts will go through the predrilled holes in the UP diffuser, as well as through the same holes where the push clips had been previously removed from.

Using masking tape, tape the edge line on the front of the factory fascia where the UP front diffuser adhesive will make contact with the factory paint as shown below. This tape will be used as a reference point for final diffuser placement and as a guide for adhesive promoter application.

Remove the UP Front diffuser from the vehicle.

Using a rubbing alcohol or equivalent nonresidue surface cleaner, clean the front fascia paint surface where the UP front diffuser adhesive will make contact. Note: Any and all paint protection materials between the adhesive bond and the painted surface of the wheel must be removed prior to UP front diffuser installation. The presence of paint protection materials between the adhesive and the fascia paint may compromise the integrity of the bond and will not be covered by our limited parts warranty.

Apply the provided adhesive promoter below the masking tape line where the adhesive for the UP front diffuser makes contact with the painted surface of the front fascia.

Place the UP front diffuser on the vehicle, and adjust accordingly until optimal placement is achieved.

Using the provided bolts and washers, secure the underside of the UP front diffuser to the factory diffuser by threading the bolts and washers through the predrilled holes in the UP diffuser into the previously installed speed nuts. DO NOT APPLY FINAL TORQUE.

Start removing the backing tape on one side of the lip and slowly work your way toward the other side. Be sure to apply light pressure by hand on the sections where the backing tape was removed to optimize the adhesive bond. Be sure to do this slowly, and press toward the center of the vehicle to ensure a tight fitment.

Once the diffuser has been fully installed, be sure to remove all of the masking tape, and torque to the provided bolts to 7ft/lbs.

Congratulations! You’ve completed your UP Front Diffuser Install! You can now take the vehicle off of the lift and out of jack mode. The adhesive will begin to set within a few hours; please avoid moisture (rain, washing, or detailing) for at least 24 hours to ensure a proper cure. Otherwise, you’re all set to go!
