Growing up people would ask, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”. Some kids say a doctor, some would say a lawyer, and then there’s those kids with hearts of gold that want nothing more than to protect and serve others as a police officer. While those career paths don’t always pan out, the desire to drive something as badass as a police car is still something that can still be fulfilled.
The Tesla Model Y has quickly become the patrol vehicle of choice for police departments across the US, including South Pasadena in California and Anaheim PD in California. Thanks to UP.FIT, a division of Unplugged Performance, departments benefit from the next generation of fleet vehicles with efficiency and safety of law enforcement in mind. In fact, one standout product from our innovative future fleet vehicles was the Forged PD wheel for the Model Y, Model 3, and Cybertruck. Its performance and durability were simply too good to keep exclusive to only clients of UP.FIT, so it only made sense to make it an available product to the general public.
Now, civilian Tesla Model Y owners can take advantage of the police proven durability of these wheels. The wheels boast an improved curb rash protection thanks to a half inch narrower width, improved performance courtesy of a 17% lighter wheel over an OEM 19” Wheel, and a more comfortable longer ride due to police pursuit 245/55R18 BFGoodrich Elite Force Tires. This wheel and tire package is offered directly through Unplugged Performance, taking the guesswork out of finding the right fitment for your Model Y.
On Monday this blue Tesla Model Y client’s car came in for a full UP.FIT Forged PD wheel & tire package with install. The wheels and tires were mounted and balanced in-house at Unplugged Performance – Hawthorne by our expert Tesla technicians to ensure a seamless and quick install. We were lucky enough that the client stuck around afterwards for a quick photo shoot with his now police inspired Tesla build with hopefully more modifications like upgraded performance big brakes and suspension to come!
With more developments being worked on daily by the UP.FIT and Unplugged Performance team, it’s no surprise that Tesla owners and law enforcement like the recently announced Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department choose UP.FITto enhance their fleets of Tesla EV patrol cars and Cybertrucks. We personally cannot wait to start seeing 2025 Tesla Model Ys get the full UP.FIT treatment as well as these wheel and tire packages being installed on more customer cars!
