Rear Sway Bar

By installing or using this product, you understand and agree with the following: If you do not agree, do not proceed with the installation and return this product within 30 days for a full refund of the purchase price from the company from which you have purchased it.

• I understand and agree that this product is intended to be installed for use on private roads and in jurisdictions where the use of this product is deemed legal by the local authorities. Furthermore, I understand and agree Unplugged Performance does not have any knowledge or control of regulations in my local jurisdiction, and it is up to me to determine if the product is acceptable for use with my vehicle.
• I understand that Unplugged Performance has done testing of this product on road and on closed racetracks but does not have the ability to test the vehicle for localized standards and regulations.
• I understand and agree that if the vehicle manufacturer determines that any Unplugged Performance products have contributed to a problem with the vehicle it may affect the vehicle’s warranty. Furthermore, I understand and agree that Unplugged Performance has no duty nor ability to be involved in internal manufacturer decisions.
• I understand and agree that if this product is given to an installer for installation on my vehicle, I have read and agreed with all the previous, even if I am not personally installing these parts on my vehicle. Furthermore, I understand and agree that this product should be installed by a trained professional that is familiar with both the vehicle as well as this product. Furthermore, I understand and agree that I and/or my chosen installer will follow the installation instructions carefully and dutifully test the vehicle post-installation in a safe and controlled environment to ensure proper operation.
• I understand and agree that by installing this product Unplugged Performance and all associated persons and entities as well as the vehicle manufacturer and all associated entities must be held harmless in the event of any suit, damages, or other legal action. Furthermore, I hereby release Unplugged Performance and any associated entities from any and all liability for any potential claim or claims.

PLEASE NOTE: THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE MUST BE LIFTED COMPLETELY OFF THE GROUND AND SHOULD REMAIN OFF THE GROUND UNTIL INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.

• 4 WASHERS

• 10MM SOCKET
• 11MM SOCKET
• 15MM SOCKET

• TORQUE WRENCH

Begin by removing all 10mm bolts shown in red circles. Once all 10mm bolts are removed, push clips on both sides marked by the red arrows. These are on the inside of the inner rear fender wall. Once all hardware is removed, the under shield will hang, remove by pushing the shield (the flat plastic panel between the rear wheels) upward into the car, and sliding it towards the rear. The under shield will then come off all together.

All hardware removed during this step will be reapplied once the shield is replaced during the final step.

DO NOT DISPOSE OF ANY 10mm HARDWARE OR CLIPS.

There are 2 OEM brackets that will need to be removed (bushing housing around sway bar), one on either side of the sway bar. Remove both 11mm bolts holding the brackets in place (11mm bolts circled in photo directly above). Once both bracket support bolts have been removed, allow the sway bar to rest in the undertray while performing the following step.

Next, look for one 15mm fastener bolt on each end of the sway bar connected to the endlinks. Remove both 15mm bolts to release sway bar from each endlink. Once this is done you can now remove the OEM sway bar from the vehicle and set aside.

Begin by adding half of the provided grease packet to the inside of each bushing. Only apply to the inside of the bushing, not on the outside. Slide each bushing onto the sway bars until they reach the bushing perch on the bar. (Perch shown in photo below)

Once complete, raise the bar to the undertray in order to install the new bracket (New bracket shown in the photo above) over the bushings. Ensure to use new washers with the OEM 11mm bolts when installing the new brackets. DO NOT APPLY FINAL TORQUE TO 11mm BOLTS UNTIL AFTER ENDLINK POSITIONS HAVE BEEN SET. This will allow the sway bar to move according to while positioning endlink settings in the following step.

Once the brackets have been lightly torqued for the new sway bar to hang freely, you will then rotate the sway bar toward the inside of the rear undertray so that you can place the endlink in your desired position. The firmest setting will be at the top (closest to the rear control arm) while the softest setting will be at the bottom (closest to the floor).

Tighten the 15mm endlink nut to 55nm or 40ftlbs on both sides.

Before tightening new brackets to spec, ensure there is clearance with the orange power cables as shown above. The bar can be slid forwards or backwards to ensure adequate spacing. Once you have the appropriate spacing, tighten down all 11mm OEM bracket bolts with new spacers to 30nm or 22ftlbs. IT IS CRITICAL NOT TO GO OVER THE TORQUE SPECS AS THESE BOLTS GO INTO THE THREADED SUBFRAME.

Lastly, using the same OEM hardware, replace the undertray in the same process as it was removed. You are all done! Congrats on your new Sway bar!
