ADJUSTABLE FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARMS – ULTIMATE EDITION FOR TESLA MODEL Y
PLEASE NOTE: THE FRONT OF THEVEHICLE MUST BE LIFTED COMPLETELY OFF THE GROUND AND SHOULD REMAIN OFF THE GROUND UNTILL INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.
- 2 UNPLUGGED PERFORMANCE FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARMS.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE A LEFT AND RIGHT-SIDE ARM. THESE CAN BE IDENTIFIED BY THE ENGRAVING AT THE TOP OF EACH ARM. PLEASE FLIP PILL TO WHAT YOU WILL BE MOSTLY USING IT FOR BEING STREET OR TRACK AND ALIGN ON THAT SETTING
- 10, 13, 15, 21mm SOCKETS
- T50 SOCKET
- NEEDLES NOSE PLIARS
- FLAT HEAD SCREWDRIVER
- PRY BAR
- RATCHET/ IMPACT DRIVER
Prior to installation, the upper frunk section needs to be removed. To do so, begin by prying up on the corners. Figure-1 Red)
Now, you will have access to 4 bolts (2 15mm bolts and 2 13mm bolts. These can now be fully removed. (Figure- 3 Red) (Figure 2 Red)
We can now head into the wheel well. Remove 18mm nut that holds endlink to strut. (Figure- 4 Green)
Remove 15mm bolt that holds front upper control arm using a T50 and a 15mm socket. (Figure 5 Yellow)
Remove 21mm bolt and nut that secure strut assembly to lower control arm using a 21mm wrench and 21mm socket. (Figure- 4 Blue)
Once the assembly is out of the vehicle, you can remove 2 13mm bolts that are on the sides of the assembly. Removing these will free the OEM Front upper control arm. (Figure- 6)
Prior to installing UP front upper control arm, move quick change pill to the position that you will mostly be using your car (street or track). Once this is set, place back into position and reinstall 13mm bolts on either side. (21ftlbs) Once set, install arm as they state which side they correspond too. (Figure- 7)
Retorque all to recommended specs below once vehicle is on its own weight.
To switch pill, jack up one side untill wheel is about to come off the ground but doesn’t. Remove both upper allen bolts and push arm up and away. Rotate pill 180 degrees and reinsert pill into arm. Retighten allen bolts.
Once pill has been switched you will need to complete one full turn of the oem tie rod in order to correct toe. The easiest way to do this is to make a clear line across the tie rod across the rod, thread and locking nut. Next complete your one full turn either going out if you switched pill from track to street or turn tie rod coming in if you switched from street to track. 1 full turn can also be measure as 2 threads or 1/8th inch.
THIS WILL BRING YOUR TOE BACK CLOSE TO 0 BUT IT IS NOT EXACT. FOR FINE TUNING AN ALIGNMENT IS NECESSARY. THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO DRIVE WITH VERY LITTLE TOE WEAR
For camber adjustment, move both turnbuckles in for negative camber or out for positive camber.
For Caster move one turnbuckle in while the other turnbuckle moves in the opposite direction same amount of turns.
For toe, it is recommended to use the factory tie rod however you can use move one turnbuckle in or out to adjust toe. Please note that this will also affect Camber.

RECOMMENDED ALIGNMENT SETTINGS FOR TRACK
Camber -3.5 Toe .16
Camber -3.0 Toe – .08
RECOMMENDED TORUQE SPECS:
3-13MM NUTS THAT SECURE FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY TO STRUT ASSEMBLY= 12FTLBS
2-15MM UPPER BOLTS=46FTLBS
2- 13MM UPPER BOLTS= 26FTLBS
15MM NUT AND T50 BOLT= 41FTLBS
18MM ENDLINK NUT= 73FTLBS
NOTE: ONCE INSTALLED, IT IS RECOMMENDED TO GET AN ALIGNMENT ASAP.
REMEMBER TO FULLY TORQUE VEHICLE ONCE IT IS ON ITS OWN WEIGHT
