First, open each factory anchor point cover to access the factory mounting points by pressing the inner side of the factory cover to access the M6 studs. There are 8 factory anchor point cover locations in total as shown below.
Using a 10mm socket, remove the factory nuts from factory anchor point 1,2,5, and 6. There is a total of 8 nuts that need to be removed from the vehicle.
Identify each support bracket’s intended mounting location. Each bracket should be packed with the relative roof rail, and are all location-specific. The Bracket shape is designed for follow the Cybertruck’s tapered body lines where the rear is wider than the front.
Using a 10mm socket, fasten 1 provided M6 lock nut and 1 provided M6 washer to each factory anchor point loosely to ensure that small adjustments to the support bracket location can be made to accommodate both the roof rack and molle panel placement.
Identify each roof rail, and place each roof rail onto its correlated support bracket. The roof rail length matches the taper of the factory mounting points, and therefore, the shortest bar is in the front, and the longest is in the rear. It is recommended that 2 people do this to prevent damage to the roof glass during the initial mounting process.
Place the rear roof rail onto the support brackets as shown below, and be sure to line up the mounting slots accordingly.
Once all mounting hardware securing the roof rails to the roof rail support brackets, apply final torque. Using a 5mm allen key and a 13mm socket to counter hold, torque each 13mm lock nut to and 5mm allen bolt to 15 ft/lbs.
Once all mounting brackets have been secured to the vehicle in their designated locations, apply final torque to each 10mm lock nut securing the support bracket to the factory anchor points. Torque to 10 ft/lbs.
Repeat Step 3 for all 4 roof rails.
First, identify the top end plate’s correlated mounting position. The top end plate is much taller than the other roof rail end plates. The rear 6 end plates are identical.
Using a 5mm allen key, fasten 1 M8x1.25 allen bolt, and 1 M8 washer to secure each end plate mounting point to the relative roof rail support bracket.Once the end plate hardware has been secured, apply final torque. Using a 5mm allen key, torque to 8 ft/lbs.
Once the end plate hardware has been secured, apply final torque. Using a 5mm allen key, torque to 8 ft/lbs.
**If you are installing Molle Panels, skip the remaining instructions in Step 3 and proceed to Step 4. If you are NOT installing Molle panels, proceed with the remaining instruction in Step 3 to complete your installation.**
Repeat all procedures from step 3 for the remaining 3 roof racks. Once completed, the installation of the UP INVINCIBLE® HD Roof Rack System is complete.
First, identify the driver and passenger side molle panels as these are location specific.
Next, using a 5mm allen key and a 13mm socket, fasten 1 provided 5mm M8x1.25 Allen bolt, 2 M8 washers, and 1 13mm M8x1.25 lock nut to 8 different points on the support bracket. We recommend spacing the fasteners for optimal weight distribution as shown. **Be sure to use the provided hardware with the molle panels for optimal bolt length.**
Next, tape off a corner of the backing tape cover so it can be removed once the molle panel is in place.
For this step, we recommend having 2 people present. One person will place the molle panel in position to ensure that the panel is properly aligned while the other person installs the 5mm Allen bolts by hand. Be sure to loosely fit all 6 bolts before applying final torque. If any bolts do not line up, remove the Molle panel to make adjustments to the roof rail support brackets by loosening the 10mm nuts to allow for support bracket relocation and proper panel alignment.
Using a 5mm Allen key, fasten a 5mm Allen bolt in each mounting point (6 total per molle panel) to secure the molle panel to the roof rail support brackets and torque to 8 ft/lbs.
Once the hardware has been torqued accordingly, you will have one person lightly lift the molle panel away and downward from the vehicle to allow for clearance. The other person will pull the tape backing off.
Once the tape backing has been removed, you will lightly pull the molle panel down and away from the vehicle in a slow sweeping motion until the support bracket is pressed against the rear quarter panel.
Repeat step 5 and 6 for the other MOLLE panel to complete your installation.
Congratulations! Your Installation is complete!
