Hypercar Invitational hosted many of the world’s most epic cars, and the entire Unplugged Performance team was honored to attend. The purpose of our time on track was to further dial in our brand new suspension and aerodynamics

The 100th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is fast approaching, scheduled for 6/22 and we’re hard at work preparing our race car for the event. After a very successful run last year, the Unplugged Performance Tesla Model S Plaid race car, dubbed “Dark Helmet”, will return to the 2022 Pikes Peak Hill Climb with our famed racing driver Randy Pobst behind the wheel yet again. And since this year’s car comes with plenty of modifications and upgrades as compared to last year’s car, the “Dark Helmet” needed a proper shakedown to test and evaluate all the modifications.

Just as last year, Hypercar Invitational hosted many of the world’s most epic cars, and the entire Unplugged Performance team was honored to attend. The purpose of our time on track was to further dial in our brand new suspension and aerodynamics. Although we did not attempt to beat our previous and still standing lap record of 1:28.2, we do plan to return to Laguna Seca at a future date to re-set our EV lap record from last year.

Below, you will find a small glimpse into the shakedown, with more to follow. We invite you all to catch our run at this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on 6/22 as we will once again be proving how well electric vehicles – and especially those from Tesla – can run the gauntlet of one of the world’s most prestigious and difficult motoring events. In the meantime, take a look at the video of the shakedown below.
