ORIGINS OF THE UP.FIT FORGED WHEEL DESIGN

In order to complement the offerings of the highest quality and most durable components that go into our Tesla police car UP.FIT program, we also needed to design a wheel that could withstand the demands of law enforcement. And that we did! Taking inspiration from iconic steel wheels previously used on police vehicles the UP.FIT Forged PD Wheel is a modern approach at a utilitarian wheel. Produced in a premium forged aluminum and designed to meet the rigorous demands of police departments, high speed pursuits, off-road maneuvers, and traversing obstacles are exactly what makes this wheel not acceptable for daily driving but over engineered for normal and spirited use.

CURB RASH IS A THING OF THE PAST

A common issues we see Model Y drivers experience is damage to the lip of a wheel due to making contact with a curb when parking. To combat this, we’ve designed the UP.FIT Forged PD wheel with a half-inch width reduction allowing the tire’s sidewall to extend beyond the wheel, resulting in added protection from curb impacts.
