Unplugged Performance has built Tesla interiors for clients whose names appear in concert venue marquees, royal succession lines, and on Forbes lists. The work ranges from a single Alcantara headliner to a complete one-off build with no reference to the original cabin.
We offer Alcantara installation, Von Halzhausen Banbū leather interiors, and fully bespoke custom builds for Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck. Every project is scoped directly with the owner. Nothing here ships in a standard package.
Alcantara Interior Upgrades
Alcantara is the performance interior material of choice at the highest levels of motorsport and automotive manufacturing. Lighter than leather, grip-positive to the touch, resistant to glare, and available in a range of colors and textures, it covers surfaces that the standard Tesla factory finish leaves flat. Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche specify it for the same reasons: it reads as intentional without being loud, and it holds up under real use.
Tesla interiors present specific challenges for Alcantara installation. The glass roof panels, flush door handles, large dashboard spans, and A-pillar geometry require precise panel mapping. Off-the-shelf kits do not account for these surfaces the way a hand-measured, hand-cut installation does.
We install Alcantara across headliners, dashboards, door panels, A and B pillars, center consoles, and steering wheels. Every panel is disassembled, measured, and cut by hand. We place seams deliberately, not where the factory process requires them. A finished Alcantara headliner on a Model Y or Cybertruck reads differently than anything Tesla ships from the factory: the surface absorbs light rather than reflecting it, the texture is consistent panel to panel, and the fit is clean at every edge.

Von Halzhausen Banbū: A Bespoke Material Option
Unplugged Performance builds interiors using Banbū from Von Halzhausen for owners who want a material outside what any factory or standard custom shop carries.
Banbū is 83% plant-based bamboo leather. It carries the feel of lambskin, with a smooth natural grain, low shine, and a supple hand, while weighing one-third of animal leather. It resists stains, scratches, and water. In production, it generates an estimated 5x lower carbon emissions compared to cow leather, and it fully biodegrades in under 250 days.
Von Halzhausen supplies Banbū to automotive companies, luxury watchmakers, and furniture manufacturers. The material was developed and patented to replace animal leather in applications where performance and appearance are both required.
We bring Banbū into Tesla interiors configured to the owner's specification. Panel coverage, color, stitching pattern, and surface layout are worked out in the design consultation before any material is ordered. No two of these interiors share a configuration. For owners who want an interior that carries no reference to a catalog option, Banbū is the material that makes that possible.
One-Off Bespoke Builds
At the top of the range, we build interiors with no reference to the original Tesla cabin. These projects combine Alcantara, Banbū, carbon fiber trim, and custom stitching in configurations the owner specifies. We apply the same craftsmanship standard found in the world's most exclusive hypercar interiors: individual panel mapping, material sign-off before any cutting begins, and a surface-by-surface inspection before delivery.
These builds are not rushed. We discuss timeline and scope in a full design consultation before any commitment is made. Material orders are not placed until the owner has reviewed and signed off on the design. Installation does not begin until materials pass our incoming inspection.

We do not publish a client roster and we do not discuss individual projects. Cars leave our facility under the owner's terms. Thirteen years of referrals have kept the schedule full.
The Installation Process
Design Consultation
Every project starts with the car in front of us. We review existing surfaces, discuss the owner's goals, and map each panel before ordering any material. For bespoke and Banbū builds, we review material samples in person before placing the order.
Surface Preparation
We remove factory headliners, dashboard skins, and panel coverings where needed. Each surface is cleaned and prepped before new material goes on.
Installation
We cut material to fit each specific panel, apply Alcantara and Banbū by hand, heat-form to panel geometry where needed, and edge-finish each surface. Carbon trim is fitted last where included.
Owner Review
We walk the interior with the owner before the car leaves, surface by surface. A single-surface Alcantara install typically takes one to two days. Full interior builds and Banbū projects run one to two weeks depending on scope and material lead time. We confirm the timeline during the consultation.
