The UP-RW FF didn’t start with a blank sheet, it started with a proven one. Our forged UP-RW had already earned its reputation as one of the most recognizable wheels in the UP Forged lineup: a bold Y-spoke design paired with a structurally integrated aero disc that actually did something, managing airflow and preserving range instead of just looking the part. The challenge for our Hawthorne engineering team was different this time: bring that same design language and aero performance to a flow-formed platform that could serve a much wider range of Tesla owners and fleet operators, without cutting corners.
Flow-forming lets us do exactly that. By spinning a cast wheel blank at high speed while rollers stretch and compress the barrel over a mandrel, the aluminum’s grain structure aligns and tightens, producing a barrel that is lighter and stronger than a standard cast wheel while staying true to the original UP-RW’s proportions and stance. The result carries a Model X-level load rating across the board, a lifetime structural warranty, and CFD-validated aero performance that lands within 0.010 Cd of Tesla’s own benchmark low-drag wheel. Bolt on a UP-RW FF and you get the Road Warrior look and philosophy, engineered for the realities of daily mileage, fleet duty, and long-term ownership.
