MIDWEST OFF-ROAD EXCURSION
Two Tesla clubs are teaming up for a full day off the pavement. Tesla Owners Club of Ohio and Tesla Owners of Kentucky are heading to Badlands Off-Road Park, a 1,400+ acre property near the Wabash River featuring sand dunes, wooded trails, a rock quarry, and open prairie. The park is waiving its entrance fee for the group, and a film crew is expected to be on hand shooting footage for a recap video.
The plan is to gather in the morning at the Veedersburg Supercharger for a charge, then convoy roughly 15 miles into the park. Drivers are encouraged to air down their tires before hitting the trails, and organizers will have compressors on-site to air back up afterward. Bring recovery gear, a tire gauge, sunscreen, water, and snacks for the day. The group will break for lunch and photos midday, then wrap the evening with a synchronized Tesla light show after sunset
Most attendees are expected to be driving Cybertrucks, since the terrain is genuinely rugged. Owners of Teslas without off-road setups (ground clearance, all-terrain tires, skid protection) are encouraged to join as ride-along passengers rather than risk their vehicles on the trickier trails.
Camping and cabin rentals are available next door at Off The Trail Vacation Rentals & Campground for anyone who wants to stay on-site rather than drive home the same day.
A $10 per-vehicle fee applies to cover event insurance, collected later through an electronic waiver. All drivers and passengers must complete both the club’s waiver and Badlands’ own waiver before participating.
