By installing or using this product, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to the following terms and conditions. If the customer does not agree with these terms, they should not proceed with the installation and must return the product within 30 days of purchase for a full refund of the purchase price from the company from which the product was purchased, excluding shipping or transit tariffs, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
Use of Product in Legal Jurisdictions – The customer acknowledges and agrees that this product is intended for use on private roads and in jurisdictions where the use of this product is legal according to local laws and regulations. Unplugged Performance disclaims any responsibility for determining the legality of the product’s use in the customer’s jurisdiction. It is solely the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the product complies with local laws and regulations before installation or use.
Product Testing and Compliance – Unplugged Performance has conducted testing of this product on public roads and closed racetracks; however, Unplugged Performance makes no warranty or representation regarding the legality or compliance of the product with regional or local regulations in any jurisdiction. The customer agrees that they bear full responsibility for any legal consequences arising from the use of this product.
Effect on Vehicle Warranty – The customer acknowledges that the installation of Unplugged Performance products may impact the vehicle’s warranty if the vehicle manufacturer determines that these products have contributed to a problem with the vehicle. Unplugged Performance does not assume any responsibility for warranty decisions made by the vehicle manufacturer. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (for U.S. customers), vehicle warranties cannot be voided merely for using aftermarket parts unless it is proven that the part caused the damage.
Installation by a Trained Professional – The customer agrees that this product should be installed by a trained professional who is familiar with both the vehicle and this product. Failure to follow this requirement may result in improper installation, which could lead to vehicle damage or void the product warranty. The customer further agrees that they or their chosen installer will carefully follow the installation instructions and perform all necessary testing post-installation in a safe and controlled environment to ensure proper operation.
Limitation of Liability and Indemnification – To the fullest extent permitted by law, the customer agrees to hold harmless, defend, and indemnify Unplugged Performance and all associated persons and entities from any claims, damages, losses, or legal actions arising out of or related to the installation, use, or inability to use this product. This includes, but is not limited to, direct, indirect, incidental, and consequential damages, except where such liability is caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of Unplugged Performance.
Product Return Policy – The customer may return the product within 30 days of purchase for a full refund of the purchase price, excluding shipping or transit tariffs, provided that the product is returned in its original condition. This return policy is subject to compliance with all applicable consumer protection laws, which may provide additional rights to the customer.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution – These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the customer resides. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (or a similar arbitration body in the customer’s jurisdiction), except where prohibited by law.

Entering Jack Mode
Warning: Activate “Jack” mode on the touchscreen before raising and supporting the vehicle. Failure to do so can often cause system malfunctions that may require an expensive visit to the Tesla Service Center to have the vehicle reset. Unplugged Performance will not be responsible for any costs incurred with failure to keep the vehicle configured properly while in service.
- To enable Jack mode on a Tesla Model S/X, you can do the following:
- Touch Controls > Service > Jack Mode
- Close the falcon wing doors (On Model X)
- Position the shop lift arm pads under the designated body lift points
After verifying that the software setting is in “Jack Mode,” lift the car onto the jackstands or a lift.
Remove all four wheels after securing the jack stands are safe.
***Note the orientation of the OEM sensors and brackets PRIOR to removal***
Tip: It helps greatly in later steps to take a photo of each of your sensor’s correct orientation.Please do take this photo before you start removing brackets and sensor arms. Pay attention especially to the orientation of the sensor arm angles, and sensor’s mounting direction on the bracket inside out.
Work on one corner, and 1 sensor at a time! It is very easy to get confused on mounting the sensor back into the car, as the sensor can be mounted flipped, inverted, and inside out. Perform the removal to installation steps for each corner in whole and in sequence so we do not get parts mixed up from other corners.
Pay attention as this is critical, and errors made here can quickly and inadvertently result in very expensive trips to Tesla Service Center to reset and erase some of the computer error codes stored.
After all the sensor locations, orientation, arm position are photographed and noted, unplug the sensor and begin by removing the 10mm bolts. With the sensor and bracket loose, pull the sensor arm from the ball mount on the underside of the control arm. (Note: Be careful not to damage the sensor arms as external plastics exposed to the elements can become brittle over time).
Once you have removed the sensor and bracket from the vehicle, use a T20 torx bit to remove the screws from the sensor assembly.
Front Sensor Bracket Installation
- Assemble the sensor to the new UP brackets. Pay attention to the orientation, to make sure the sensor isn’t mounted inside-out, upside-down, etc… (this is when the photographs taken of your car’s original state become very handy!!)
- Position the brackets with the anchor pin in place against the frame and align the threaded hole to secure it properly at the correct angle. Hand tighten your 10mm bolt back in its place. Be sure that the pin and hook are all in place and tighten while making sure the entire bracket is held at the correct position.
- Replace the plastic arms by snapping the ball joints back in place, making sure here too, that the arms are oriented in the same way as before removal.
- Repeat the above with the other side of the car. Please be very careful with each step.
- Inspect the electrical plug on the sensor as well as harness socket and be sure none of the pins are bent or dirty. Carefully, insert the plug into the sensor.
Rear Sensor Bracket Installation
- Just as in front side, inspect and photograph, note the original state of the brackets and sensors, and arms before removing anything.
- The rear brackets look a little different but the process of replacing the brackets is the same. Please follow the instructions above.
- Again, caution on the side of installing things meticulously and just as it was in the factory orientation.
- Check and double check as triggering a permanent error code in the vehicle computer due to installation errors can be very expensive.
How the sensors should look, when installed in the 2021-2026 Model S
Please view carefully to see that everything is secure, and all the arms are attached in the same orientation. Check also that the sensors are not mounted inside out.
Check and clean the pins and sockets and connect all electrical sockets securely.
Again: Pay attention as this is critical, and errors made here can quickly and inadvertently result in very expensive trips to Tesla Service Center to reset and erase some of the computer error codes.
After the installation is complete, if your vehicle is not behaving as expected, we recommend the following in order, one step at a time until the concern is resolved.
***Before assuming there is an issue please read***
The height and pressure reading of each corner of the air suspension system in the Tesla on-board software is constantly shifting and adjusting. It is normal for the readings to be off or vary quite significantly. It is making real time adjustments over uneven pavement and even the slightest of unevenness on the pavement will cause it to fluctuate. This is true for OEM Tesla as well as our Dynamic Suspension Kit. Also, the height number shown in plus/minus amounts will not be consistent with the actual vehicle height regardless of stock or with UP brackets. It is common to see variance between each end, and especially at the rear between left and right sides.
Re-check all the brackets and sensors and be sure of the following.
- Orientation of the sensors and brackets match the photos taken of the original OEM Tesla units.
- All the sensor arms are oriented to match how it was from the factory as well.
- Check that all sensor units, arms, and brackets are securely fastened and on proper tabs locators, and ball joints are all snapped in and moving smoothly.
- Check that all electrical connectors are securely fastened, and electrical terminals are seated and conducting signals properly.
After all the Steps in 1 are complete and verified, and still the car is displaying critical errors or not behaving correctly, a software reset of the On-Board computer may be necessary.
- Do this on a very level surface.
- The vehicle may take upwards of 10 minutes to turn back on fully, but this should help the car recalibrate to the new brackets. If your car has dropped properly but is providing a height error code internally, in most cases this is a variable of the vehicle’s original programming. It is operating fine physically but may be displaying numbers that may seem off.
