It took the team at Unplugged Performance no time at all to start pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with the new 2026 Tesla Model Y Launch Edition. Just ONE day after installing a set of 22×9.5 Satin Titanium CYBRHEX Wheels the boys over at UP have converted the car into an off-road going machine!
The UP-03 Forged wheels on the car are a square set up, meaning the front and back wheels share the same widths and offsets, of 18×9 +20. A size combination we refer to as “Off-Road Spec” this provides a smaller diameter and slightly narrower wheel than our “Street Performance Spec” giving you added tire protection and higher tire sidewall to absorb impact from rough terrain. The wheels are available in Satin Black as shown in the images, or various other colors such as Satin Titanium & Satin Bronze. For most situations this version of the wheel is highly capable of concurring the trail however for the more hardcore overlanding enthusiast a beadlock version is also available giving you a more rugged look and proving increased traction thanks to the beadlock’s tire gripping design allowing less slippage at the rim’s mounting point. The wheels are wrapped in a set of Yokohama Geolandar X-CV in 255/55/18. The Geolandar X-CV is a tire that provides optimized all-season performance that provides powerful wet braking capability for sport crossovers and SUVs making it the ideal tire for the Model Y enthusiast looking to occasionally venture off the city streets.
The 2026 Tesla OEM suspension sits slightly higher from the factory than the previous generation Model Y, making ground clearance relatively good from the factory. Which was the option chosen for this photoshoot.
