On November 30, Tesla delivered the first Cybertrucks to customers. The company announced pricing, specifications, and special capabilities of the pickup truck, impressing consumers. Tesla’s website now also lists accessories that will further add to uniqueness and usefulness of the steel beast.
One of the most interesting accessories is BaseCamp. We previously saw mention of it in the Tesla App, and now we have the details. This is a tent that is designed specifically for sleeping or resting right in Cybertruck. It has an ultra-light geodesic air-frame design and can be quickly inflated using a hand pump, without the need for any supports. This allows for a camp setup in just minutes while providing a comfortable place to sleep. The tactical gray kaleidoscope-patterned nylon interior awning protects from inclement weather, and the mesh windows ensure air circulation and comfort. An ultra-soft mattress provides a comfortable place to sleep and admire the stars. BaseCamp retails for $2,975.
To further individualize Cybertruck, Tesla has developed wraps. At the moment, the company offers only two colors: Satin Black and Satin White. The wrap costs $6,500. Perhaps the manufacturer will offer more color options later.
Another important and interesting accessory is the Tailgate Ramp. It is necessary to load or unload various heavy objects into the bed. For example, this could be ATVs such as Cyberquad. According to the description, the ramp is made of lightweight material, so installation should be easy. The accessory costs $400.
Tesla is also now offering the following accessories: floormats, glass roof sunshades, OMFG decals, storage trays, bumper protectors, spare tires, and a useful tool kit.
One of the most impressive additions to the Cybertruck is the Range Extender. This feature, provided as an optional accessory, increases the range of the truck by 30%. It is only available for Dual-Motor All-Wheel-Drive and for the Tri-Motor “Cyberbeast” versions. Thus, a Dual-Motor with a range of 340 miles will receive an extension to 470+ miles on a single charge. Tri-Motor, with a range of 320 miles, will receive an extension to 440+ miles.
The range extender is essentially an extra battery the size of a toolbox. It will be located on the bed of the truck and occupy approximately a third of its volume, still leaving plentiful storage space. This expansion will be very useful for those who go on long trips and/or tow heavy loads. Pricing for the Range Extender has not yet been officially released. Some enthusiasts who have dug deep into the source code of Tesla’s website suggest the accessory’s potential price tag will be $16,000. However, it would be safer to wait until the official announcement.
