Tesla Paint Protection Film Installation
Unplugged Performance Auto Spa installs XPEL paint protection film on every Tesla model: Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck.
Four coverage packages run from targeted front-end protection to a full-vehicle satin conversion with XPEL Stealth. Every installation begins with multi-stage paint decontamination, runs through a private controlled indoor facility, and leaves with a 10-year XPEL warranty.

Two Films. Clear Purpose for Each.
XPEL Ultimate Plus
A clear, gloss-finish film that stays invisible on the car. The self-healing topcoat responds to heat from sunlight or warm water to close light surface marks. On bare paint, a scratch stays. On film, heat closes it within minutes. Ultimate Plus is the right choice for owners who want protection without changing how the car looks.
XPEL Stealth
A satin-finish film that converts a gloss paint surface to a uniform low-sheen matte. Stealth carries the same self-healing technology and 10-year warranty as Ultimate Plus. A full-vehicle Stealth conversion takes a glossy factory finish and produces a consistent satin across every panel. Owners who want a matte appearance without a vinyl wrap choose Stealth.
Both films protect against road debris, UV degradation, acid fallout, and coastal salt air. XPEL backs both warranties directly.

Why Tesla Paint Needs Protection
Tesla applies paint thinner than most traditional manufacturers. The water-based process produces a finish that chips and scratches under impacts a thicker clearcoat would deflect. The front fascia, hood leading edge, and A-pillars collect the most visible damage on daily-driven Teslas. In Los Angeles, year-round UV exposure, freeway debris at elevated speed, and coastal salt air from Manhattan Beach to El Segundo degrade unprotected paint faster than most U.S. climates. PPF takes the impacts, UV load, and acid fallout. The paint underneath stays at delivery condition for the life of the film.
Step 1: Multi-Stage Paint Decontamination
Every car gets a full wash, a clay bar treatment to lift bonded surface contamination, and a paint inspection under dedicated lighting before film touches any panel. We measure paint depth with a gauge to map areas where the factory clearcoat runs thin. Film traps any existing damage or contamination permanently underneath it. We address anything that needs correction before installation begins.
Step 2: Precision Film Cutting with XPEL DAP Software
We cut film using XPEL's Design Access Program (DAP) software, which holds digital templates built for each Tesla model year and trim. Precision-cut film produces clean edges and consistent coverage without bulk-cutting on the paint surface. For areas outside standard template coverage, such as non-standard trim packages or custom body modifications, our technicians cut by hand.
Step 3: Installation in a Private, Controlled Facility
Our Hawthorne facility runs appointment-only. We assign your car a dedicated bay and a single technician for the full installation. No shared bays, no cars sitting between stages overnight. We work on Teslas, which means we know where each model's panel gaps run, where the body curves require relief cuts in the film, and where coverage edges need to sit to stay invisible after installation.
Step 4: Final Inspection and Warranty Registration
Before the car leaves, we inspect the full installation under both natural and artificial lighting. We correct any section that shows lifting, contamination, or edge inconsistency before pickup. We register the 10-year XPEL warranty to your car as the installer of record.
Coverage Packages
Front-End Protection
Front bumper, full hood, front fenders, side mirrors, and headlights. This package covers the highest-impact damage zones on freeway-driven Teslas. For owners who commute and want to protect the car without a full-vehicle investment, front-end coverage addresses what matters most.
Track Package
Everything in Front-End Protection plus rocker panels, A-pillars, and rear splash guards. The rocker panels on a Model 3 Performance or Model Y Performance collect debris from both axles during hard driving. A-pillars take chip damage in tight parking and from debris traveling along the car's sides. This package suits Plaid and Performance trim owners and high-mileage drivers.
Full Vehicle Coverage
Film on every painted panel: hood, roof, trunk lid, all four doors, fenders, bumpers, pillars, and mirrors. When you sell the car or return the lease, you remove the film and the paint underneath reflects what it looked like the day it left the factory.
XPEL Stealth Full-Vehicle Satin Conversion
XPEL Stealth across every painted panel. A uniform matte finish with no gloss sections and no mismatched panels. Self-healing, 10-year warranty, washes the same way as standard film. For owners who want a protected matte finish rather than an exposed vinyl wrap.
Add-On Services
Ceramic Coating Over PPF
Adds a hydrophobic layer over the film. Water, grime, and brake dust sheet off rather than bonding to the surface.
Glass Protection Film
XPEL glass film on the windshield and panoramic roof. Stops rock chips before they spider into full cracks.
Interior Film
Covers door sills, cup holders, center console edges, and door jambs, the surfaces that show wear first.
