The Unplugged Performance Rear Strut Tower Brace for the 2021+ Model S Plaid and Long Range provides increased chassis rigidity resulting in better in-turn response, tighter driving experience and even reduced interior squeaks and rattles. The front suspension of the Model S is braced by the firewall and front strut tower bar from the factory, however the factory setup for the rear of the chassis is absent of any bracing and is free to sway and flex under higher g-force loads when driving spiritedly or racing, or on uneven surfaces. Our Rear Strut Tower Brace solves this issue to eliminate rear chassis flex.

Tesla Model S / Model S Plaid (2021+) GT Rear Strut Tower Brace
The 2021+ generation of the Tesla Model S looks quite similar to the earlier generations on the outside, but the updated Plaid and Long-Range models are built on an entirely new chassis architecture that relies on the battery pack as a structural element. While being an engineering masterpiece by Tesla that lowers the center of gravity, the impactful result is an ultralight construction that allows for a significant amount of flexion in the upper portion of the chassis. The effect of this flex can be felt from the driver’s seat primarily through sway, slop, and interior noise such as squeaks and rattles caused by the movement occurring in the upper chassis.
This is the issue that the Unplugged Performance Rear Strut Tower Brace solves. By bracing both sides of the rear strut perches together we are effectively removing all flexion that occurs in the chassis from right side to left side, as well as fore, aft and cross-chassis flexion. The benefits of eliminating chassis flexion with the Rear Strut Tower Brace include improved steering turn-in, more predictable handling and less interior squeaks and rattles.
Increasing rigidity by bracing the rear strut perches of a car is common practice in many legendary and highly accredited sports cars and supercars including the Porsche 911 GT RS, Nissan GT-R Nismo, various models of Ferrari and Aston Martin, to name a few. Most of these vehicles have chassis engineered for rigidity and still find evidence of the improved effects of their factory rear strut tower braces. In our development and testing process, we measured chassis flex based on the movement of the rear strut perch relative to the right side with one wheel up on a curb and the other on the ground, both in factory spec, and with our brace installed. In this scenario, the delta is almost a full inch reduction in flexion and that’s with no lateral g-forces applied! This brace was an amazing upgrade for my car. I added the UP rear sway bar first then the full UP suspension then this Strut Tower Brace. I feel this completed the feel i was looking for. The cars back end feels so solid while cornering and over the bumpys feels so solid too. A noticeable difference. I have removed it a couple of times to fit some big stuff in the car and it was super easy. Really happy with it.
