Commemorate your favorite Tesla race car with this limited-edition carbon fiber artwork. Made by hand in Hawthorne, California utilizing upcycled carbon fiber from a world-famous rocket company.
Sometimes we create things just because they are awesome. This is art. Art that you can’t do anything useful with. We thought about making a mouse pad, a bookend holder, a coaster, or something useful. But we settled for pure art. We are calling it “space junk”. It is space junk because it was created from scrapped actual carbon fiber from rocket production and its origins were intended to belong in outer space. We are highly confident that you can’t do anything useful with this. And yet, it is a meaningful and pure statement of what it represents – Sustainable Awesomeness!
Within our ethos of promoting sustainability, we rescued this special rocket-grade prepreg carbon fiber from a life in a landfill. What was the original scrap material from the rocket company now has a second life with this project. From the best rockets to the fastest cars, we’ve created a unique fusion of the things we love with this art piece. Featured is an artist rendering of our Pikes Peak & multiple lap time record-holding Tesla Model S Plaid, affectionally named Dark Helmet. Dark Helmet’s image is represented on the space company’s prepreg carbon fiber and encased in epoxy resin which creates a vibrant floating 3D effect of the art and a polished glossy finish.
Do you value spending your hard-earned money on junk? Not sure what to get the Tesla-lover in your life who has everything but Space Junk? We’ve only created a select few designed for fans of our philosophy of racing fast Teslas, supporting innovation in space flight, and supporting the creativity of talented individuals. These are all made by hand in extremely limited numbers. There may be imperfections as this is not mass production. They’re made by the hands of one man whose same hands were making rocket components that have flown to space and back.
