Product Details

If you want faster laps, more confidence in the canyons, and safer stops in daily traffic, upgrading brakes is the smartest performance decision you can make for your Model 3. Power helps you get down the straight. Brakes decide how late you can stay on throttle and how precisely you can rotate the car. The Tesla Model 3 Stage 2 “Core” Performance Brake System focuses on that truth with a balanced, track-proven package that elevates pedal feel, heat capacity, and repeatability on every drive.

At the heart of the system is our UP x PFC Iron 6-Piston Front Big Brake Kit. Massive 394 x 35 mm, two-piece PFC V3 iron rotors pair with lightweight, rigid 6-piston monoblock calipers to deliver powerful initial bite and stable modulation, session after session. PFC’s patented Direct Drive V3 architecture allows the rotor to expand and contract freely, which reduces the risk of warping, helps control judder, and keeps the assembly quiet without the rattles common to many two-piece designs. The result is consistent pedal travel and confidence under repeated hard stops, even when you dial back regen for thermal management.

Out back, UP Street and Track rear pads add the extra bite and temperature headroom the stock setup lacks when you push. The compound is tuned for street and track duty, so you get improved stopping power, longer fade resistance, and a reassuring, progressive pedal without the harsh noise or dust of pure race pads. Together with the front big brake kit, these rear pads balance the car, shorten stopping distances, and make the chassis easier to place at the limit.

To complete the system, our stainless steel braided brake lines replace the factory rubber hoses. Rubber expands under pressure, which softens pedal feel right when you need precision. The TUV-produced stainless lines resist expansion, so the pressure you command at the pedal reaches the calipers more directly. The payoff is a firmer, more communicative pedal and finer control over trail braking and rotation.

Looks matter too. The oversized 394 mm front rotors and 6-piston calipers fill the wheel with purpose. Paired with UP forged wheels, the stance turns heads before you even touch the pedal. On track, the visual impact is matched by real performance: later braking marks, steadier lap-to-lap feel, and fewer compromises when managing heat through a long session.

We call this the “Core” Performance package because it is the foundation we recommend to nearly every Model 3 owner who drives hard. It upgrades the essentials without unnecessary complexity and delivers a step-change in confidence on street and track.

Compatibility

Fits all Model 3 variants from 2017 to present, including the 2024+ refresh, RWD, Long Range, and Performance.

What’s included

  • UP x PFC Iron 6-Piston Front Big Brake Kit

394 x 35 mm two-piece PFC V3 floating iron rotors

6-piston monoblock aluminum calipers with mounting brackets and hardware

PFC front brake pads engineered for this kit

  • PFC rear brake pads for improved rear bite and consistency
  • Premium stainless steel braided brake lines for all four corners

Fitment note

Clears UP 18″ forged race wheels and most 19″+ OEM wheels. Some 18″ aftermarket wheels with generous inner barrel clearance may fit. Factory 18″ Model 3 wheels do not clear this kit. If in doubt, contact us to confirm.

Installation and fluid

A professional brake bleed with high-temperature performance fluid is required. We recommend Motul RBF 660 or Endless RF-650. Regular fluid service is advised for cars that see frequent track use.

Upgrade the core of your Model 3. Stop shorter, brake later, and drive with confidence every mile.

      Frequently Asked Questions - F.A.Q.
Everything you need to know about this product before you buy.

Why do Tesla Model 3 brakes fade on track and hard canyon runs?

Brake fade happens when repeated hard stops overheat the pads and fluid faster than the system can shed the heat, and the factory Model 3 setup leans on regen to cover for undersized hardware. Stage 2 attacks that with the UP x PFC iron 6-piston front kit running 394 x 35 mm two-piece rotors, PFC pad compounds front and rear, and stainless lines that hold pedal firmness when temperatures climb.

Does the Stage 2 Core brake system fit a 2024+ Model 3 Highland?

Yes. It fits every Model 3 from 2017 to present, including the 2024+ refresh, in RWD, Long Range, and Performance trim. The front big brake kit and PFC rear pads are the same across the range, so a Highland owner gets the identical hardware. The only thing that changes between builds is your caliper color choice, red or black.

Will these brakes clear my wheels, or do I need to buy new ones?

The kit clears UP 18-inch forged race wheels and most 19-inch and larger OEM wheels. Factory 18-inch Model 3 wheels do not clear the 394 mm front rotors. Some 18-inch aftermarket wheels fit if they have generous inner-barrel clearance. If you are unsure about a specific wheel, send us the model and we will confirm before you order rather than guess.

What makes the PFC V3 two-piece rotor different from a one-piece rotor?

PFC’s Direct Drive V3 design floats the iron rotor ring on the hat so it can expand and contract with heat instead of fighting it. That reduces the risk of warping, helps control judder, and keeps the assembly quiet without the rattle common to cheaper two-piece rotors. The payoff you feel is steady pedal travel stop after stop, even when you dial back regen to manage heat.

How does the Core kit compare to the Stage 1 Essentials brake kit?

Stage 1 keeps your factory calipers and rotors, upgrading only the pads and adding stainless lines, which is the smart entry point for a daily-driven car. Stage 2 adds the full 6-piston front big brake kit with 394 mm rotors for far more heat capacity and a bigger visual presence. If your weekends involve real track sessions, the jump from the Stage 1 Essentials Brake Kit to Stage 2 is the one that pays off.

Can Unplugged Performance install the brake kit, or is this a DIY job?

We install it at our technical service centers, and we build the kit so an experienced shop can fit it too. A big brake kit is more involved than a pad swap: brackets, caliper mounting, line routing, and a proper bleed all have to be right. Whoever does the work has to perform a full brake bleed with high-temperature fluid, and we recommend Motul RBF 660 or Endless RF-650.

Do I need special brake fluid after fitting this kit?

Yes. A professional bleed with high-temperature performance fluid is required, not the DOT 3 the car left the factory with. We recommend Motul RBF 660 or Endless RF-650, both of which resist the boiling that turns pedal feel soft under heat. Cars that see frequent track use should service the fluid more often, since it absorbs moisture over time and loses its temperature ceiling.

Is a big brake kit worth it if I mostly drive in traffic?

For pure stop-and-go commuting, honestly the stock brakes cope, helped by regen doing most of the slowing. Stage 2 earns its place the moment you add canyon drives, mountain descents, or track days, where the extra rotor mass and PFC compounds shorten stopping distances and stay consistent. Many owners also run it for the look of 6-piston calipers filling the wheel. Just know what you are buying it for.

What does the Stage 2 package actually include?

You get the UP x PFC iron 6-piston front big brake kit with 394 x 35 mm two-piece rotors, aluminum monoblock calipers, brackets, and hardware, plus PFC pads engineered for the kit. It adds PFC rear brake pads for balance and stainless steel braided brake lines for all four corners. Pair it with a set of UP forged wheels and the stance changes as much as the stopping does.

If I upgrade my brakes, does that void my Model 3 warranty?

No, installing our brake kit does not automatically void your Tesla warranty. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Tesla has to show that the aftermarket part caused a specific failure before denying that claim. We suggest keeping your factory brake parts so you can revert if you ever need to. Note that damage from misuse or a bad install is a separate matter and is not covered.

Will upgrading my brakes void the Tesla warranty?

Tesla’s warranty covers factory-installed parts, but it does not automatically void your warranty if you install aftermarket components like Unplugged Performance brake kits. Under U.S. law (Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act), Tesla must prove that an aftermarket part caused a failure in order to deny warranty coverage. Our parts are engineered to work harmoniously with Tesla OEM Brake systems and can be professionally installed by Unplugged Performance in Hawthorne, CA or by an authorized installer to minimize risk. That said, any damage directly caused by misuse or improper installation may not be covered. We recommend retaining all factory parts so you can revert to stock if needed. Many Tesla owners enjoy peace of mind by using Unplugged Performance products, which are extensively tested and installed by certified professionals. If warranty concerns are top-of-mind, our team can help clarify compatibility and installation best practices to ensure a worry-free experience.

What does the Unplugged Performance product warranty cover?

Unplugged Performance offers a comprehensive warranty on all parts and installations performed by our certified technicians. Warranty coverage applies to defects in materials and workmanship on items including lowering springs, coilovers, big brake kits, brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, shocks, and more. Should any covered part fail under normal use or display premature wear, we will repair or replace it at no additional cost—assuming the component was installed by us or at one of our authorized partners.

This warranty is valid for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, excluding consumable products like brake pads, rotors, and tires, starting from the installation date. Coverage extends to labor for warranty repairs when performed by Unplugged Performance or an authorized installer. It does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidents, off‑road use, improper installation not done by us, or modifications that aren’t factory-approved.

To file a warranty claim, simply contact our service team. We’ll guide you through inspection, shipping (if needed), and repair or replacement logistics. transparencia and top-tier support are what you can expect from Unplugged.

Will installing Unplugged Performance parts void my Tesla warranty?

Installing aftermarket parts does not automatically void your Tesla warranty. Under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act (www.sema.org/sema-enews/2011/01/ftc-validates-right-to-install-aftermarket-parts), a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you installed aftermarket parts. Tesla must prove that the aftermarket part caused the specific failure in question to deny a warranty claim. UP recommends retaining all factory parts to allow reverting to stock if needed.
