Unplugged Performance Racing Seat for Tesla Model S

Handle G-Forces Like a Champ

Whether you’re carving corners at speed or launching it, the stock Tesla Model S seat just wasn’t built for serious performance driving. That low-bolstered, comfort-first seat might work for a grocery run, but it won’t do much to keep you planted when you’re pushing the limits. That’s where this seat comes in and transforms your driving experience; offering you confidence, support, and race-ready ergonomics.

Precision Control Through Enhanced Driver Connection

This seat isn’t just about looking cool—it’s about becoming one with your machine. This deeply bolstered seat allows you to stay firmly in place through every turn, giving you a direct, tactile connection to your car’s every movement. That enhanced feedback shortens your reaction time and increases control, letting you drive harder, smarter, and safer.

Built for Racing, Designed to Fit In

Designed specifically for the Tesla Model S interior, the Alcantara Bucket Racing seat addresses the biggest challenge of aftermarket seating: compatibility. Each seat package includes a Model S-specific seat base designed from the ground up to sit as low as possible for an ideal driving position.

Easy Installation, Track-Ready Setup

Installation is straightforward thanks to our comprehensive bolt-in system. Everything is included—seat base, slider rails, hardware, and optional harness provisions. With basic tools and a bit of time, you can go from showroom to track-ready without the headaches. And when it’s time to return to a factory setup, the entire system uninstalls cleanly.

      Frequently Asked Questions - F.A.Q.
Everything you need to know about this product before you buy.

Can I still use my factory seatbelt, or do I need a harness?

Both work. The seat is compatible with OEM seat belts and racing harnesses, so you can keep the stock belt for daily driving and add a FIA racing harness later for track days. The package includes optional harness provisions in its bolt-in system. That flexibility means you are not forced into a harness-only setup just to run the seat on the street.

Is installing this seat a bolt-in job or a fabrication project?

It is a comprehensive bolt-in system: seat base, slider rails, hardware, and optional harness provisions are all included, so with basic tools and some time you go from stock to track-ready without fabrication. When you want the factory setup back, the whole system uninstalls cleanly. Local Los Angeles owners can also have our Hawthorne team fit it rather than doing it themselves.

Does the seat still slide for different drivers?

Yes, the bolt-in system includes slider rails, so you retain fore-and-aft adjustment to set your driving position and share the car. The base is designed to sit as low as possible for an ideal seating position, which matters for headroom and center of gravity. You lose the stock seat’s power recline and heating, but you keep the practical ability to move the seat.

Carbon shell or fiberglass, which material should I choose?

Both come wrapped in Alcantara; the difference is the shell. Carbon is lighter and the choice if saving weight and the visual matter most to you. Fiberglass costs less and is plenty strong for street and track use. If you are building a weight-focused Plaid, go carbon. If value is the priority and you still want the bucket’s support and look, fiberglass delivers it.

Where would I actually use a bucket seat like this?

It shines anywhere you drive the Plaid hard, from canyon roads to a road course, because the bolstering keeps you locked in under high G-forces where the stock seat lets you slide. If you want to put it to work in a controlled setting, our TeslaCorsa track day experience is a Tesla-focused event where a bucket seat and harness earn their keep. On a commute it is firmer, but that is the trade for real support.

Will this seat affect my Model S Plaid warranty?

Fitting an aftermarket seat does not automatically void your Tesla coverage. Because it uses an emulator to retain vehicle functionality and installs as a reversible bolt-in, it is built to keep the car’s electronics intact and let you return to stock. Under Magnuson-Moss, Tesla would need to show the seat caused a specific failure to deny a related claim, not simply cite the swap.

Why swap the stock Model S seat for a bucket racing seat?

The factory Model S seat is low-bolstered and comfort-first, which is fine for a grocery run but lets you slide around once you push the car. This deeply bolstered bucket keeps you planted under high G-forces so you stay connected to the car through hard corners. That firmer hold shortens reaction time and gives you more control when you are actually driving at the limit.

Which Teslas does this Alcantara bucket seat fit?

It fits the 2021+ Model S Plaid and the 2021+ Model X Plaid and Model X, selectable by vehicle, with driver or passenger position and your choice of Alcantara over carbon or fiberglass. Each package includes a Tesla-specific low-mount seat base designed for that interior. It is built around the Model S and Model X Plaid cabins specifically, not a universal seat forced to fit.

Will this seat break my car’s electronics or throw errors?

No. The package includes a Tesla-specific low-mount seat base and an emulator that retains vehicle functionality, so the car’s systems stay happy after the swap. That emulator is the key detail, since aftermarket seats often trigger faults when they remove the factory sensors. This one is engineered to keep the electronic integrity of the car intact while giving you a real bucket.

How big a driver does this seat accommodate?

It is designed to fit a wide range of body types, up to a 42-inch waist. Bucket seats can be intimidating on fit because the bolsters are fixed, so that stated range is worth checking against your own measurements. If you are close to the limit or want to be sure before ordering, our team can talk through sizing so you are confident the seat suits you.

What does the Unplugged Performance product warranty cover?

Unplugged Performance offers a comprehensive warranty on all parts and installations performed by our certified technicians. Warranty coverage applies to defects in materials and workmanship on items including lowering springs, coilovers, big brake kits, brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, shocks, and more. Should any covered part fail under normal use or display premature wear, we will repair or replace it at no additional cost—assuming the component was installed by us or at one of our authorized partners.

This warranty is valid for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, excluding consumable products like brake pads, rotors, and tires, starting from the installation date. Coverage extends to labor for warranty repairs when performed by Unplugged Performance or an authorized installer. It does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidents, off‑road use, improper installation not done by us, or modifications that aren’t factory-approved.

To file a warranty claim, simply contact our service team. We’ll guide you through inspection, shipping (if needed), and repair or replacement logistics. transparencia and top-tier support are what you can expect from Unplugged.

Will installing Unplugged Performance parts void my Tesla warranty?

Installing aftermarket parts does not automatically void your Tesla warranty. Under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act (www.sema.org/sema-enews/2011/01/ftc-validates-right-to-install-aftermarket-parts), a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you installed aftermarket parts. Tesla must prove that the aftermarket part caused the specific failure in question to deny a warranty claim. UP recommends retaining all factory parts to allow reverting to stock if needed.

What are the shipping options and times?

Unplugged Performance processes orders quickly, typically within 1–2 business days after placement. For U.S. customers, orders under $50 usually ship via FedEx SmartPost with an estimated delivery time of 2–7 business days. Larger items like body kits or bumpers may ship via freight carriers with curbside delivery; customers will be contacted to schedule a delivery window. Import duties or taxes are the customer’s responsibility. To ensure a smooth shipping experience, provide accurate contact information during checkout.
