Standard Model X front lower suspension arms equipped with rubber bushings are prone to wear and often end up requiring replacement. This wear is accelerated by the enormous power, weight and grip of the Tesla Model X (including 2021+ Plaid).
There’s a reason a better solution has not existed until now. It is extremely expensive to develop because it requires a new arm and multiple new bushings already preinstalled. After many years testing at the Nurburgring, at Pikes Peak and on daily driven streets we’ve made the necessary investment to bring a comprehensive solution that is easy to install and has a revised approach to all bushings in the arms.
The Unplugged Performance Front Lower Compliance Fore and Lateral Aft Control Arms are full OEM-spec control arm replacements that feature upgraded spherical bushings throughout, already mounted in them for easy and low-cost installation. Developed and tested at Pikes Peak Hill Climb in our Dark Helmet race car, these arms and bushings are designed to eliminate bushing deflection for improved driving performance and comfort, and to maintain proper suspension geometry.

Tesla’s factory bushings utilize a soft rubber that we’ve found wear out in as little as 30,000-50,000 miles causing annoying knocking and creaking noises as well as slop and play in the steering. We’ve simplified and upgraded the solution for you. Replacement options until now typically include a direct replacement with the same equipment ultimately resulting in the same outcome. Alternatively, some aftermarket solutions may address the replacement inner bushings, however that does not address the outer bushings or ball bushings. Additionally, pressing in bushings can be a very expensive installation. We offer a full arm replacement that replaces and upgrades every associated bushing, including the ball joints which must be inserted during the arm’s casting process. All this extra development is to give you a simplified and the most-thorough solution. Another benefit is that this arm can easily be installed in the comfort of your own garage or driveway if you choose to and are so equipped. The Front Lower Compliance Fore Arms are located at the front lower suspension and connect the hub to the subframe at the most forward position in the front suspension. They incorporate 1 new spherical bushing or bearing and 1 new spherical ball joint and act as the factory caster adjuster using an eccentric bolt at the subframe mounting point.
The Front Lower Lateral Aft Arms are located at the front lower suspension and connect the hub to the subframe while also being the lower anchoring point for the strut assembly. They incorporate 2 new spherical bushings or bearings and 1 new ball joint and it also acts as the factory camber adjuster using an eccentric bolt at the subframe mounting point.
Note: A proper alignment is highly recommended after installing these arms and bushings
