In collaboration with Salomondrin, Unplugged Performance has unveiled a breathtaking new wrap for the Tesla Cybertruck.
Alejandro Salomon, also known as, Salomondrin, approached us at Unplugged Performance to do a full INVINCIBLE Cybertruck build on his new Cyberbeast, starting with a “new cool wrap idea”. Salomondrin gave us the general concept and told us to “go f%&$’n nuts”. We turned to our designers at our auto spa, Bulletproof Auto Spa, and they got to work hand drawing a custom 1-of-1 wrap that would turn his stainless steel Cybertruck into a patina’d homage to the legendary P-51 Mustang Fighter-Bomber 20th-century military aircraft, along with the infamous and unmistakable ‘shark mouth’..
The design process took 2 full weeks, hand drawing every detail specifically for the Cybertruck’s unique geometry. Rivet lines follow those of the Cybertruck body panels and creases, simulated mud is slung aft the wheel wells, and there are rust and patina elements common to real-life deterioration of the famous airplanes. Elements like grab handles are so realistic they create an urge to want to grab them. There is even an Easter egg where the designer included simulated venting at the rear end of the quarter panels on either side. Inside those vents are mechanical elements, one of which is a perfectly scaled visual of the air suspension pressure release valve that sits behind the Cybertruck’s right rear fender flare.
Once the design process was done, we gave Salomondrin a quick sneak peek at the design renders, took his factory-spec Cyberbeast on Monday in late April, and said “See you on Friday when we’re done”. The Auto Spa team got right to work and was able to complete the task of wrapping the Cybertruck by the end of the day. We scheduled an epic photoshoot off the runway at Hawthorne airport with the Cybertruck looking at home amongst its aircraft peers and called Salomondrin which we finished 3 days early and it’s ready to be picked up and unveiled.
Salomondrin showed up and was eyeing Dark Knight, our satin black Model S-APEX Plaid, in the parking lot. We invited him to hop in and take a ride to our auto spa facility down the street. Naturally, geeking out, he made a whole YouTube video reviewing the car’s exterior and interior.
It was now time to unveil the new wrap. Salomondrin walked in and his jaw dropped. We surprised him with the 20” UP-03 Beadlock wheels he ordered as we unexpectedly finished a production run just the day prior. Mounted in beadlock mode with BF Goodrich KO3 tires, the satin titanium finish perfectly matches the utilitarian vibes of the Cyberbeast’s new look, both in color and ethos. Our favorite reaction from him was “My wife is going to be so annoyed!”
The expertise of Unplugged Performance’s Auto Spa shines through as we adapted these designs to accentuate the sharp angles and polarizing frame of the Cybertruck making it a truck-ready to tackle any terrain with the confidence of a warplane swooping into a dogfight. Two days later, the wrap was unveiled to the world garnering millions of impressions, and even getting positive comments from Elon Musk on X confirming his approval.
