While the Tesla Model 3 (especially the Performance variant) is a serious track weapon in skilled hands, its hefty weight strains stock brakes. Factory pads prioritize quiet operation and low dust, paired with DOT 3 fluid. This setup handles street driving well, aided by regenerative braking, but falters under track demands.
Track braking generates extreme heat from repeated hard stops. Unplugged Performance (UP) High Performance Brake Pads, made with Performance Friction (Porsche Motorsport supplier), use high-friction semi-metallic compounds for better bite and fade resistance.
