If you love the way a properly “stanced” Tesla Model 3 or Model Y looks but you are not ready to jump into UP Forged wheels yet, wheel spacers are the underrated shortcut that makes your OEM setup look instantly more intentional. It is one of those modifications where the before-and-after is obvious, even to people who do not normally notice cars.
That tucked-in factory look is not a mistake. Tesla builds these cars to clear a wide range of tire sizes, suspension travel, road conditions, and production tolerances. The result is a conservative wheel position that works everywhere, but it can leave the car looking narrow from certain angles, especially on OEM wheel packages. Spacers address that by moving the wheel outward just enough to improve the stance and visual balance without changing the wheel itself. It is the same “wide and planted” effect people chase with aggressive offsets, except you keep the wheels you already own.
The spacer sizes we offer, and what they do
At Unplugged Performance, we build Tesla-specific, hub-centric wheel spacers in three common sizes: 5 mm, 15 mm, and 20 mm.
- 5 mm spacers are the subtle option. If you want a small improvement in stance, or you are trying to fine-tune fitment with a specific tire, 5 mm can be the perfect nudge outward while staying very close to factory geometry.
- 15 mm spacers are where most owners start to see that “why didn’t it come like this?” effect. The car looks wider, the wheels fill the arches better, and the stance reads more premium in photos and in person.
- 20 mm spacers deliver the most dramatic flush look in a straightforward way, especially when paired with OEM wheel designs that sit more inboard from the factory.
The key detail here is hub-centric design. A hub-centric spacer matches the factory hub diameter so the spacer seats tightly and properly centers the wheel. That centering is what helps keep the fitment secure and vibration-free, because the wheel is located by the hub the way Tesla intended, not just hanging on the studs.
What makes our spacers Tesla-friendly
On the newer 3/Y platform there are factory details that generic spacers ignore. For example, some setups include a pinch bolt in the area where the spacer sits. Our spacer design accounts for this by including a pocket so you can slide it on cleanly without needing to remove that hardware when retaining the factory brake rotor. The included low-profile conical nuts are also designed to sit in the spacer pocket so everything clears properly once the wheel is installed.
Want the cleanest OEM-wheel stance? Meet the F’n Perfect Flush Fitment Kit
If you want the stance everyone compliments on a Model 3, but you also want it done the right way, our F’n Perfect Flush Fitment Kit is the no-guesswork solution. It is built for Model 3 (all trims and years) and centers around three components that work together:
- Dual Rate Lowering Springs (moderate height) for a tasteful ~1.5 inch drop
- 15 mm front + 20 mm rear hub-centric spacers for a flush OEM wheel look
- Adjustable rear camber arms to bring alignment back into a tire-friendly range after lowering
Lowering improves the look immediately, but it also introduces more negative camber, especially in the rear. That can sharpen handling, but too much rear camber can accelerate inner tire wear. Adjustable rear camber arms let your shop set alignment targets that protect your tires and keep the car stable and confident on the highway. Then the 15/20 spacer combination finishes the recipe by pushing the wheels outward just enough to sit visually flush on a lowered ride height.
Does it affect Full Self-Driving?
No. Wheel spacers do not interfere with Full Self-Driving. You are not changing sensors, cameras, steering controls, or software. You are simply adjusting wheel offset (track width) with properly designed, hub-centric hardware and correct torque procedures.
Ready for your stance?
Whether you want a subtle 5 mm clean-up or you want the full flush look with 15 mm and 20 mm spacers, the results speak for themselves. If you want us to handle the install, we offer professional installation at our technical service centers in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. Tell us your Model 3 or Model Y, your wheel and tire setup, and how aggressive you want the stance to be—and we will point you to the right spacer setup (or the full F’n Perfect kit) so you can keep your OEM wheels and still look like you upgraded everything.
