It swapped the rubber bushing in the front lower control arm, also called the compression rod or thrust arm, for a sealed spherical bearing. Rubber flexes under load, which shows up as wheel hop and vague steering. The spherical bearing removed that deflection so inputs reached the tire directly. It was built from 6061 aluminum and stainless steel and fit all Model 3 and Model Y variants.
