Three Reasons We Built It from Steel
1. Durability for Off-Road Use
The factory plastic rear bumper gives way to a high-strength steel assembly designed for rugged conditions. For owners spending time around rocks and uneven terrain, that material choice brings a more durable exterior. A black powder-coated finish helps resist corrosion and scratches while complementing the Cybertruck’s bodywork.
2. Structure That Supports Useful Features
The included Hardcore Trailer Hitch Receiver reinforces the bumper across its width, supporting features such as integrated Hi-Lift jack points. The assembly also provides two recovery points. These additions make the rear of the truck more useful when preparing for off-road travel, while Tesla’s rated towing and load limits still apply.
3. A Foundation for Your Next Additions
The steel swing arms can support an optional spare tire carrier, giving you a dedicated place for a spare outside the bed. Their integrated MOLLE panels also provide mounting space for equipment. That flexibility is useful when your packing list grows from a couple of bags to everything needed for a weekend away.
A Shape That Gives You More Clearance
The bumper mounts directly to the chassis and improves departure angle from Tesla’s stated 28 degrees to 30.7 degrees, a gain of 2.7 degrees.
Departure angle describes the clearance behind the rear tires as the truck transitions over terrain. Increasing it gives the rear more room before contacting the ground when coming off an obstacle or leaving a steep section of trail. The bumper’s shape puts that extra clearance to work.
Build It Your Way with Swing Arms and MOLLE Storage
One thing we like about a modular setup is that you can figure out what you need through using the truck.
Start with the bumper. Add a left or right swing arm when you need more storage. Add the second later if your trips call for it. Each arm incorporates a MOLLE panel for compatible equipment, including securely attached backpacks, tool bags, and recovery gear. The arms swing outward when you need access to the bed.
The optional Spare Tire Carrier mounts to either arm, so you only need one to carry a spare wheel and tire. Consider your arrangement carefully, since a mounted spare can obstruct the rear camera’s view.

The First Add-On We Would Choose: Rear Side Steps
If you are deciding which accessory to start with, the UP INVINCIBLE® HD Rear Rock Slider Step Set would be high on our list.
These steel sliders sit at the rear corners and double as steps, giving you a convenient foothold when reaching into the bed. Loading camping equipment, grabbing a backpack, or adjusting a tie-down becomes a little easier when you have somewhere to step.
They also serve a protective role off-road, helping deflect the truck away from obstacles around the rear corners. If a slider gets damaged, its modular design allows it to be replaced without replacing the entire bumper assembly.

Extra Visibility When the Sun Goes Down
Optional rear-mounted LED flood lights illuminate the area behind and around the truck’s rear corners. They are useful for reversing on dark dirt roads, checking unfamiliar ground behind you, or unloading at camp after sunset.
Anyone who has arrived at a campsite later than planned knows how quickly the simple jobs become awkward in the dark. Finding a bag, checking where you are stepping, and getting equipment organized are all reasons to appreciate additional lighting back there.
