Sometimes, the most satisfying changes to a car come down to proportions. Bring the body a little closer to the wheels, move those wheels into the right position, and suddenly the whole thing comes together.
That was the opportunity with this Frost Blue Metallic Tesla Model Y. Already wearing STEALTH paint protection film, it had a distinctive satin finish that gave the factory color a different personality.
Our next contribution was underneath: the Unplugged Performance Model Y Perfect Flush Fitment Kit.
The package brings together three components: dual-rate lowering springs, front and rear hub-centric wheel spacers, and adjustable rear camber arms. Each addresses a different part of the setup, from ride height to wheel placement to alignment.
Here’s why all three belong in the same conversation.
Starting With Frost Blue Metallic and STEALTH PPF
Frost Blue Metallic and a satin finish make an interesting pairing. The color gives the car its identity, while the STEALTH PPF changes how light plays across the bodywork.
With that exterior treatment already in place, refining the stance was a natural next step. The idea was to bring the proportions together so the finish, body lines, and wheel placement felt like parts of the same build.
This is where small changes become surprisingly noticeable. The space above a tire and the distance between a wheel and the fender affect how we read the entire car. Getting those relationships right can make a familiar Model Y look much more purposeful.
Dual-Rate Lowering Springs: Bringing the Body Into Position
The springs establish the ride height, reducing the space between the tires and wheel arches. The kit uses our Moderate Height lowering springs, with a listed drop of approximately 1.5 inches for RWD and AWD models, or 0.75 inch for Performance models. The appropriate configuration depends on the vehicle’s year and trim.
But height is only part of the job.
Our dual-rate spring design combines a more compliant initial rate with a firmer secondary rate as the suspension compresses further. The goal is to balance everyday ride comfort with the support needed as cornering, braking, and other inputs load the suspension.
For a Model Y that handles commuting, passengers, and weekend drives, that balance matters. A lower stance should feel considered from the driver’s seat, too.
Why they’re included: The springs set the vertical relationship between the body and wheels, while providing spring behavior designed around daily driving and improved body control.
Hub-Centric Wheel Spacers: Getting the Wheels Where They Belong
Once the body sits lower, wheel position becomes even more noticeable. A wheel tucked well inside the fender can leave the stance looking unfinished.
The kit’s front and rear spacers move the wheels outward, bringing them closer to the fender line. This is what gives the package its flush-fitment character and allows owners to make more of their existing factory wheels.
The hub-centric design locates the spacer on the vehicle’s hub and centers the wheel on the spacer. Correct sizing, clearance, and installation remain essential to the finished fit.
Why they’re included: Springs address the gap above the tire. Spacers address how far the wheels sit inside the arches. Together, they shape the stance from both the side and the front or rear.
Adjustable Rear Camber Arms: Taking Care of the Geometry
The camber arms are the part you’re least likely to notice in a photograph, but they have an important role.
Camber describes the inward or outward tilt of a wheel when viewed from the front or rear. Lowering the car changes suspension geometry and can increase negative rear camber, where the tops of the wheels lean inward.
Our adjustable rear camber arms replace the fixed-length factory arms, giving the alignment technician control over that angle. This makes it possible to bring rear camber toward an appropriate street alignment after lowering.
That adjustability helps address one contributor to uneven inner tire wear. It doesn’t replace a complete alignment or guarantee a particular tire lifespan; toe settings, tire pressure, and driving habits matter as well.
Why they’re included: They provide the adjustment needed to support the new ride height with suitable rear alignment settings. They’re an important part of making the setup work beyond its appearance.
Three Components, One Finished Setup
It’s easy to shop for suspension parts one at a time. What takes more thought is understanding how one change affects the next.
Lowering changes the relationship between the body and wheels. Wheel placement changes how that new ride height looks. Alignment adjustment helps account for the geometry changes underneath.
That’s the thinking behind this package: consider those relationships together from the beginning.
A professional four-wheel alignment should follow installation. Owners should also confirm their wheel configuration before ordering; the kit’s 15 mm spacer fitment requires sufficient pockets behind the wheels to accommodate the protruding factory studs.
Those details are part of getting a fitment right.
