Q: Does a rear wing actually do anything on a street-driven Model 3?

Yes. At 150 mph the Ascension-RR generates 2332 N, roughly 238 kg, of rear downforce, and those forces scale with speed, so at freeway pace you still get a measurable share of that planted feel. The 2024+ Model 3 roofline creates rear lift from the factory. This wing counteracts it, which is why the tail tracks straighter in crosswinds and quick lane changes. You do not need a track to notice it.
