It helps either way. The extra roughly 10% fluid volume and radial-fin cooling give thermal margin under any hard use, and the magnetic capture keeps oil cleaner over the life of the car. On track the cooling matters most, which is worth knowing before your first TeslaCorsa track day. On a daily Model Y it is about longevity. This is the same design used on the UP Pikes Peak Model 3, which set EV production-based lap records at Laguna Seca and Buttonwillow.
