Q: How does a sway bar compare to lowering the car for handling?

They fix different problems. Lowering drops the center of gravity so the body has less reason to roll in the first place; a sway bar directly resists the roll that remains and lets you tune front-to-rear balance. Together they complement each other well. If you want one change that most cleanly reduces lean and lets you adjust it, the sway bar is the sharper single tool.
