Q: Were these tested anywhere serious?
Yes. They were developed and tested at the Nurburgring and at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in our Dark Helmet race car, then on daily-driven streets. That combination is deliberate: a front arm has to survive extreme track loads and still behave on a commute. The spherical bushings came out of that program.
