Q: What are rear spats and what do they do for a Model 3?

Rear spats are carbon pieces that mount low on the rear sides of the car, ahead of and around the rear wheel area, to redirect airflow. On the 2024+ Model 3 they tidy up air at the lower rear corners, which adds a measure of downforce and helps high-speed stability and cornering grip. They also sharpen the rear look, following the factory design line into the diffuser for a cohesive finish.
