Q: What does a limited slip differential actually do on a Tesla?
A limited slip differential sends power to the wheel with the most traction instead of letting a spinning wheel waste it. Tesla’s stock open differential relies on the brakes and stability control to manage a slipping wheel, which cuts power and slows you down. This physical LSD redistributes torque mechanically, so you get quicker response and better grip in high-g corners, off-road, or on snow and ice.
