Q: What is not covered by the Unplugged Performance warranty?

While UP warranties are among the strongest in the aftermarket industry, there are specific exclusions across all product categories.

Cosmetic and surface damage is not covered under any category. This includes curb rash, scratches, stone chips, finish fading, discoloration, or corrosion of any kind — even on forged wheels with a lifetime structural warranty. The structural warranty covers integrity, not appearance.

Impact and collision damage from potholes, road hazards, curb strikes, or accidents is excluded across all products.

Improper installation voids coverage. Products must be installed following UP’s published instructions, with correct torque specifications and appropriate tools. For certain products, professional installation is required.

Consumable items: including brake pads, rotors, brake fluid, suspension bushings, and bump stops — are not warranted against wear at any rate. These are covered for fit and function at delivery only.

Competitive racing is excluded. Coverage includes paved track days and HPDE events, but not timed racing, time attack, wheel-to-wheel, or drag racing.

Carbon fiber cosmetic issues on unfinished parts — including UV yellowing, hazing, or resin cracking — are not covered unless the part has received professional clear coat or PPF treatment, which is the customer’s responsibility.

Products purchased secondhand or from unauthorized resellers carry no warranty. All warranties are non-transferable and apply to the original purchaser only.

Road salt, harsh chemicals, and abrasive cleaning agents that cause corrosion or finish damage are excluded.

Labor, shipping, and alignment costs are never covered, regardless of category.

For final clearance and discontinued items, no warranty applies. Third-party products such as tires carry only the original manufacturer’s warranty.
