Q: Why is this diffuser made from PA12 instead of carbon?
PA12 is a tough black plastic chosen for exactly where this part lives, low under the rear bumper where road debris and weather punish anything mounted there. It shrugs that off, stays light enough to snap into place easily, and its finish reads as factory rather than shouting for attention. Carbon would cost more and add chip sensitivity in a spot that does not reward it.
