TESLA 2021 MODEL S PLAID BRAKE GUIDE FOR HIGH-PERFORMANCE DRIVING
When the 2021+ Model S Plaid / Model S comes out of the factory, the vehicle is delivered with rubber brake lines. While rubber is a great option from both the carmaker’s and owner’s perspective, as it is durable, resilient, long-lasting, and most importantly, low cost. However, there are some compromises that come with rubber brake lines, including the ability for the rubber lines to expand and contract under hard braking. This expansion leads to a spongy brake pedal feel, which is actually a loss in the braking capability and response that can be felt.

In turn, to further improve the factory braking capabilities of the 2021+ Model S Plaid / Model S, we’ve developed our Stainless Steel Sport Brake Line Set. For those who demand higher performance and better brake feel from their Model S, this upgrade is something highly recommended. After upgrading to the Stainless Steel Sport Brake Line Set, you’ll notice a firmer and more consistent brake feel during spirited driving. The more-responsive, high accuracy feel will allow for higher confidence and greater precision in braking.
We strongly recommend pairing these upgraded brake lines for your Tesla Model S Plaid or LR with high-temperature racing brake fluid such as Motul RBF 660, PFC RH 665, Endless RF 650, Castrol SRF, or similar racing brake fluids, for maximum performance, as should be done with any brake upgrade. While these brake lines will function just fine with OEM Dot 4 fluid, the OEM fluid will produce a mushy pedal feel in performance driving conditions, regardless of how stout your brake lines are.
This set includes:
- 4 stainless steel brake lines tested to 3000+ psi.
- Laser-cut brackets to replicate the original factory mounting locations and procedures exactly.
- Crush washers and banjo bolts.
Notes:
- Customers purchasing our Carbon Ceramic Big Brake Kit aka BFB Kit for the 2021+ Tesla Model S and LR do not need to purchase this brake line kit, as we include these lines with your BBK purchase.
- Professional installation is recommended.
- This set replaces the following Tesla PNs:
- FR LH, BRAKE HOSE, MS, P2 1420723-00-C
- FR RH, BRAKE HOSE, MS, P2 1420724-00-C

Great product. The lines are professionally made, the brackets lined up perfect to the factory spots.. Straight forward install for the basic mechanic. Pedal felt more consistent afterwards..
After installing the lines.. The brake bleed procedure via Tesla is as follows: Brake bleeder kit set at 15psi.. Left = Driver side… Left Outside bleed valve then Left Inside then Left Outiside, switch to Right Outside, Right Inside, Right Outside switch to Right Rear switch to Left Rear… Do this 3 times.. Then remove bleeder kit.. Do procedure 2 additional times via standard brake pedal pumping way to get final bubbles out. (need a 2nd person for this)
I used Castrol SRF fluid (best rated but most expensive fluid on the market).. Factory fluid is no good for high temps..
