Q: Do stainless brake lines last longer than rubber ones?

The stainless braid protects the inner line and resists the swelling and abrasion that age rubber hoses, and this set is pressure tested beyond 3000 psi. Rubber is durable and cheap, which is why Tesla uses it, but it trades away pedal precision. Stainless lines give you a more consistent feel over their life. As with any brake component, inspect them periodically as part of normal maintenance.
