Where it started: The birth of a longstanding partnership with BBS GmbH

What happens when you take a world leader in quality and performance and a global leader in Tesla aftermarket performance parts to make a wheel design made for daily driving? You get the UP X BBS Flugplatz.

Coming off the curtails of our first collaboration is BBS GmbH on the UP-01, one of the world’s first aftermarket wheels designed specific for the Tesla Model S Unplugged Performance kicked off Nürburgring operations and local manufacturing in Germany. Being developed right on the Green Hill, we brought the world-renowned track’s essence into the wheel’s name paying homage to its iconic Flugplatz crest, infamous for sending cars into the air at high-speeds. It’s one of the most demanding section of, not only the Nürburgring Nordshliefe, but any racetrack on earth. Having been named after the crest, we can assure you it can withstand the abuse of the crest. This wheel is engineered and produced in Germany to take this punishment.

Designed specifically for the Tesla Model Y

Unlike most aftermarket wheels, these are sized perfectly for the Model Y platform. It can accept factory TPMS sensors, Tesla factory lug nuts, and has Tesla-correct center bore dimensions, ensuring snug and ideal application and fitment .

One fitment, One Goal

UP X BBS Flugplatz are ideal for the driver who wants a direct bolt-on fitment. From our years of experience working with thousands of Teslas, we concluded that a 20×9 +32 fitment is the best OEM+ fitment for a Model Y daily driver. It offers a slightly more aggressive stance than the OEM 19 and 20” wheels, yet is narrower which allows for easier tire rotations and range-optimized tires. The 20” Flugplatz can fit a range of widths from 255 to 275. 

We also offer this wheel as a Luxury wheel & tire package which is slightly oversized from factory to provide additional comfort in your daily commute. 

The Flugplatz is also designed to clear our UP BFB 6 piston big brake kits with 15.5” rotors.

We constructed the UP X BBS Flugplatz to minimize unsprung weight compared to Tesla factory wheels which can directly improve acceleration, braking, and energy efficiency. The UP x BBS Flugplatz uses a flow form manufacturing process that maintains high strength without the high price tag.
