Product Details
As we push the limits of Tesla performance, we always keep Colin Chapman’s famous philosophy in mind “add lightness”. Leveraging the most advanced carbon fiber manufacturing techniques has always been core to our brand since we started Unplugged in 2013. However, for doors, safety is an incredibly important factor in our engineering. That’s why we leverage a very special Carbon-Hybrid construction in which high strength steel is sandwiched into the door skin itself. This provides a new level in strength and resiliency in the case of side impact when compared to traditional carbon-only doors. Additionally, the door set includes the integration of the factory side impact beam design which have been reproduced in full dry carbon. All of these details have been done with minimal weight impact. We could have saved cost and a couple Kgs and made a more simple door set but these have all of the features and added safety measures we want on our own cars so we built the best.
Full luxury interior or stripped out race car? Your choice. Our doors are made as true factory replacement and include all details to do so. All factory components are able to transfer over from the factory doors and attach in the same way. This allows the full installation of factory speakers, electronics, factory glass windows, factory door panels, and trims with no compromise for cabin comfort.
- 13.2 lbs Dry Carbon-Hybrid Construction (Carbon and Steel Sandwich) Front Door (ea)
- 12.8 lbs Dry Carbon-Hybrid Construction (Carbon and Steel Sandwich) Rear Door (ea)
- Total weight savings for Front/Rear set 17.1 lbs or 35.8lbs when paired with Unplugged Performance Lexan side windows
- Carbon inner door reinforcement beams in each door
- Works with all standard Telsa Model 3 interior trim, speakers, door handles, windows, and electronics
- The doors can be body color painted for a stealth look or wrapped with PPF or clear coated to show off the carbon. Contact us for a quotation to add these custom finishes or for further race preparation of your vehicle.
- These are racing parts intended for off-road use only with proper racing safety equipment and a roll cage
- Pairs well with UP Lexan windows. When replacing the factory doors it is a great opportunity to replace the factory glass with UP Lexan side windows. This combination provides a 35.8lb weight savings and still provides the use of power windows and a full interior. Adding the remainder of UP Lexan (front windshield and roof glass) increases the weight savings to 71.9lbs with a full factory interior retained.

How much weight do the carbon door replacements save on a Model 3?
Each front door weighs 13.2 pounds and each rear door 12.8 pounds in the Carbon-Hybrid construction, for a total set saving of 17.1 pounds off the factory doors. Pair them with UP Lexan side windows and the saving grows to 35.8 pounds, and adding the full Lexan set including the windshield and roof glass takes it to 71.9 pounds, all while keeping a full factory interior.
Are carbon fiber doors safe in a side impact?
These are engineered with side impact in mind, which is why they use a Carbon-Hybrid construction rather than carbon alone. High-strength steel is sandwiched into the door skin itself, and the factory side impact beam design is reproduced in full dry carbon inside each door. That gives a level of strength and resilience that a carbon-only door cannot match. We built them to the standard we would accept on our own cars, not the lightest possible shortcut.
Are these doors street legal, or track only?
They are racing parts intended for off-road use only, meant to be run with proper racing safety equipment and a roll cage. They are aimed at Model 3 race cars and dedicated track-day builds, not daily street driving. If you are building a car for competition, these fit that purpose, and a Tesla-focused event like TeslaCorsa is exactly where such a build belongs. For a street car, our carbon exterior and aero parts are the right route instead.
Will factory door parts and electronics transfer to the carbon doors?
Yes. The doors are made as true factory replacements and include the details needed for everything to carry over. Your factory speakers, electronics, glass windows, door panels, handles, and trims all transfer and attach the same way they did on the original doors. That means you can run these with a full luxury interior and working power windows, or strip the car out for racing. The choice of how far to go is yours.
Do these fit every Model 3, and can they be painted?
They are built as direct replacements that work with your standard Model 3 interior trim and hardware, so nothing has to be custom-fabricated to fit. For finish, you can have them body-color painted for a stealth look, or wrapped in paint protection film or clear-coated to show off the carbon weave. Reach out for a quote if you want a custom finish or further race preparation of the car handled alongside the doors.
Why pair the carbon doors with Lexan windows?
Because swapping doors is the ideal moment to swap glass. When the factory doors come off, replacing the heavy factory glass with UP Lexan side windows brings the total saving to 35.8 pounds, and you still keep working power windows and a full interior. Going further with the full Lexan set, front windshield and roof glass included, reaches 71.9 pounds saved. The doors and Lexan are designed to work as a weight-reduction system together.
Do the carbon doors keep the factory side impact beams?
They keep that protection, but reproduce it in carbon. Rather than deleting the side impact structure to save weight, we reproduced the factory side impact beam design in full dry carbon and added carbon inner reinforcement beams in each door. Combined with the steel sandwiched into the skin, that preserves the crash structure’s intent while still cutting mass. It is the harder, more expensive way to build a lightweight door, and it is the one we chose.
Is professional installation required for the carbon doors?
Yes, professional installation is required. These are structural replacements, so the work involves migrating all your factory door internals across and hanging the doors to fit precisely. It is not a bolt-on accessory. Our team can handle the install and any further race preparation of the car, including custom finishes, as part of the build rather than leaving you to sort it out.
What is the philosophy behind building carbon doors this way?
Colin Chapman’s principle, add lightness, has guided us since we started Unplugged Performance in 2013, and advanced carbon fiber manufacturing has been core to the brand from the beginning. For doors, though, safety outranked chasing the absolute lowest number. We could have saved cost and a couple of kilograms with a simpler carbon-only door. Instead we built the Carbon-Hybrid version with the safety features we want on our own race cars.
Can I run these doors with a full interior instead of stripping the car?
Yes. Because all factory components transfer over and attach the same way, you can keep the full luxury interior with working power glass, or strip the car out for racing. The doors do not force a choice between weight saving and cabin comfort. This same build-it-right philosophy drives our complete cars, like the track-record-setting Model 3 Performance RS. Add Lexan glass later for more saving.
What does the Unplugged Performance product warranty cover?
Unplugged Performance offers a comprehensive warranty on all parts and installations performed by our certified technicians. Warranty coverage applies to defects in materials and workmanship on items including lowering springs, coilovers, big brake kits, brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, shocks, and more. Should any covered part fail under normal use or display premature wear, we will repair or replace it at no additional cost—assuming the component was installed by us or at one of our authorized partners.
This warranty is valid for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, excluding consumable products like brake pads, rotors, and tires, starting from the installation date. Coverage extends to labor for warranty repairs when performed by Unplugged Performance or an authorized installer. It does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidents, off‑road use, improper installation not done by us, or modifications that aren’t factory-approved.
To file a warranty claim, simply contact our service team. We’ll guide you through inspection, shipping (if needed), and repair or replacement logistics. transparencia and top-tier support are what you can expect from Unplugged.
Will installing Unplugged Performance parts void my Tesla warranty?
Installing aftermarket parts does not automatically void your Tesla warranty. Under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act (www.sema.org/sema-enews/2011/01/ftc-validates-right-to-install-aftermarket-parts), a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you installed aftermarket parts. Tesla must prove that the aftermarket part caused the specific failure in question to deny a warranty claim. UP recommends retaining all factory parts to allow reverting to stock if needed.
What are the shipping options and times?
