TESLA MODEL 3 HIGH EFFICIENCY CARBON FIBER TRUNK SPOILER

We designed our High-Efficiency Trunk Spoiler to help improve the aero efficiency of the Tesla Model 3. Using the latest in aero simulation and CAD technology, we engineered a spoiler that looks great, is simple to install (no drilling), doesn’t impede the rearward visibility of a driver, and most importantly, reduces overall drag!

During the R&D process, we found that we were able to reduce total vehicle drag by 6.3%, representing an improvement of 273% over the OEM spoiler available on the Performance trim level. In addition to the efficiency improvements, we were also able to increase rear downforce (helping to improve stability at speed) by 83.7% over having no spoiler at all. Patent pending.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Produced from autoclaved dry carbon fiber to help keep overall weight low, while maintaining high-rigidity
  • Installation via ultra-strong automotive-grade 3M double-sided tape for easy installation and removal, with no modification to the vehicle necessary
  • Can be easily paint-matched to your Model 3 by your local body shop

UP Carbon parts are engineered using advanced prepreg-autoclave technology with our proprietary dry-carbon-kevlar backing layer. This superior method, with resin integrated during production, delivers exceptional strength-to-weight performance compared to traditional wet-layup or vacuum infusion methods.

      Frequently Asked Questions - F.A.Q.
Everything you need to know about this product before you buy.

Which Model 3 does the High Efficiency spoiler fit?

It is designed for the Tesla Model 3 and mounts to the trunk with automotive-grade 3M tape, so no drilling and no permanent change to the car. Confirm your exact model year on the listing, since this is the long-running pre-refresh spoiler rather than a 2024+ Highland-specific piece. Reach our team to verify fitment for your year if you want certainty before buying.

Is the High Efficiency spoiler easy to install?

Yes. It bonds on with ultra-strong 3M tape and needs no drilling, and it comes off later without modifying the trunk. Home install is realistic as long as you clean and dry the surface first for a strong bond. If you would rather have it fitted and you are near Los Angeles, our Hawthorne shop can install it and quote scheduling.

High Efficiency vs. High Downforce: which trunk spoiler is right for me?

Go High Efficiency if range, quiet looks, and steady highway manners are your priority, since it leads with the 6.3% drag cut. Go High Downforce if you track the car and want maximum rear grip from a gurney flap. The High Downforce piece is essentially this spoiler with an added flap, so this one is the efficiency-first choice.

Does this spoiler really improve my range?

It helps because a 6.3% drag reduction lowers the aerodynamic load at highway speed, and less drag means less energy burned to hold a cruise. It will not rewrite your rated range, but on the highway the efficiency gain is real and consistent. If squeezing out range is the goal, this efficiency-focused shape is the trunk spoiler to pick over a high-downforce wing.

What finishes are offered and can it be color-matched?

It comes in gloss or satin (matte) carbon base coat, and a local body shop can paint-match it to your Model 3 if you would rather it disappear into the bodywork. The carbon is autoclaved dry carbon fiber, chosen to stay light and rigid. So you can show the weave in gloss, run a flatter satin look, or hide it in body color entirely.

Can I add downforce later without buying a whole new spoiler?

Yes. This efficiency spoiler is the base shape that the High Downforce version builds on by adding a gurney flap, and it also serves as the foundation for modular rear aero on Performance builds. That means you can start efficiency-focused now and scale up rear downforce later while keeping this spoiler underneath. It is a sensible entry point into UP rear aero, and the Dual Rear Carbon Fiber Spoiler Set is where that path leads for maximum downforce.

Will a tape-mounted spoiler void my Model 3 warranty?

No. Mounting a spoiler with 3M tape does not automatically void your Tesla warranty. Magnuson-Moss requires Tesla to prove the part caused a specific failure before denying a claim, and a bonded trunk spoiler does not touch a warrantable system. Because it removes cleanly without drilling, returning the car to stock before a service appointment is simple.

How is it built and how long is it covered?

The spoiler is autoclaved dry carbon fiber over a proprietary dry-carbon-kevlar backing, with resin laid in during production so it runs lighter and stiffer than a wet-layup part. Fitment and function are warrantied 5 years for the first owner. Its base coat is there for you to clear coat or protect, which is why UV fade and chips on bare carbon are excluded from that coverage.

What does a high-efficiency trunk spoiler do for a Model 3?

Unlike a big wing that trades drag for downforce, this spoiler is shaped to reduce drag first while still adding rear downforce for stability. We used aero simulation and CAD to design a profile that looks sharp and installs without drilling, and it keeps the driver’s rearward view clear. The result cuts the energy needed to push the car through the air, which is why efficiency-minded owners choose it.

How much does this spoiler reduce drag and add downforce?

It reduces total vehicle drag by 6.3%, a 273% improvement over the OEM spoiler on the Performance trim, and increases rear downforce by 83.7% versus running no spoiler. Those figures come from our R&D testing and are what make it a rare piece that helps both range and high-speed stability at once. Patent pending on the design.

What does the Unplugged Performance product warranty cover?

Unplugged Performance offers a comprehensive warranty on all parts and installations performed by our certified technicians. Warranty coverage applies to defects in materials and workmanship on items including lowering springs, coilovers, big brake kits, brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, shocks, and more. Should any covered part fail under normal use or display premature wear, we will repair or replace it at no additional cost—assuming the component was installed by us or at one of our authorized partners.

This warranty is valid for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, excluding consumable products like brake pads, rotors, and tires, starting from the installation date. Coverage extends to labor for warranty repairs when performed by Unplugged Performance or an authorized installer. It does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidents, off‑road use, improper installation not done by us, or modifications that aren’t factory-approved.

To file a warranty claim, simply contact our service team. We’ll guide you through inspection, shipping (if needed), and repair or replacement logistics. transparencia and top-tier support are what you can expect from Unplugged.

Will installing Unplugged Performance parts void my Tesla warranty?

Installing aftermarket parts does not automatically void your Tesla warranty. Under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act (www.sema.org/sema-enews/2011/01/ftc-validates-right-to-install-aftermarket-parts), a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you installed aftermarket parts. Tesla must prove that the aftermarket part caused the specific failure in question to deny a warranty claim. UP recommends retaining all factory parts to allow reverting to stock if needed.

What are the shipping options and times?

Unplugged Performance processes orders quickly, typically within 1–2 business days after placement.
