The 2021+ Tesla Model X + Plaid Adjustable Front Upper Control Arm Set – Ultimate Edition (FUCA)
A direct result of the lessons learned and information procured from racing the Unplugged Performance Model S Plaid at the 2021 Pikes Peak Race. With that, it was always our intention to develop the ultimate performance handling Model S, but also, translate it into the other models from Tesla’s lineup, namely the Model X. Optimize your camber, caster, and toe settings for grip, range, or tire wear optimization. Improved driving feel and strength are a nice bonus!
The standard Tesla Model X front upper control arm is non-adjustable which gives you no way to optimize camber, caster, or toe settings on your vehicle, and our Ultimate Edition (FUCA) resolves this issue
The standard Model X front upper control arm is non-adjustable which gives you no way to optimize camber, caster, or toe settings on your vehicle. This upgrade solves the problem spectacularly offering you full control over your suspension setup whether your goal is efficiency, tire wear, driving feel, or performance. This product can be especially important for anyone raising or lowering their vehicle.
We have applied our extensive racing experience on the Plaid Model S to the current generation 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid. All of our suspension development begins with precision 3D scanning of the car’s suspension to develop a working digital model and extensive simulation testing for strength, articulation, and durability. Then we beat on it harder than anyone ever will on our company vehicles before rolling it out to the public. Our history, race results, and industry-leading warranty provide peace of mind that these are the best money can buy.
The resulting product is our brand new Unplugged Performance Adjustable Front Upper Control Arm Set – Ultimate Edition (FUCA) for this platform, something Model X owners were asking for and we have delivered.

Which Tesla parts does this FUCA set replace?
It replaces Tesla part numbers 1027322-00-F S and 1027327-00-F, the fixed front upper control arms on the 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid. This is a direct swap for those components. Pricing runs from $180.00 to $1,805.17 across the configurator: the low end is a replacement pill/ball joint, and the top end is the complete adjustable arm set.
How is the FUCA engineered to survive front-end loads?
It starts as a precision 3D scan of the car’s suspension, then the arm is CNC-milled from 6061 aluminum and FEA-simulation optimized for static and long-term fatigue loads, so strength lands where the loads actually are while weight comes off. The pivots run sealed spherical bushings for precise, silent, wear-resistant movement. We then abuse it on our own development cars harder than any customer will before it ships.
Is this really derived from the Pikes Peak race program?
Yes. The Ultimate Edition FUCA came directly out of racing our Model S Plaid at the 2021 Pikes Peak Hillclimb, then translating that work to the Model X. The intent was always to build the ultimate handling Model S and carry the lessons across Tesla’s lineup. The engineering behind this arm is race-derived, not adapted from a generic catalog part.
How difficult is the install and can your team handle it?
The arm was designed to make life easy for installers and alignment technicians, with an adjustment layout built to get the settings perfect every time. Near Los Angeles, our Hawthorne shop can fit the set and align the car; request a quote on the page. It ships the next business day. Any competent alignment shop can also do the job thanks to the quick-change pill.
Will these control arms void my Model X warranty?
Fitting adjustable arms does not automatically end factory coverage. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act requires Tesla to demonstrate that the arm caused a specific failure before refusing a claim, rather than denying it on sight. Our race history and warranty stand behind the part. Keep the stock arms you remove so returning to factory spec is always an option.
Do I need adjustable front arms if I lower my Model X?
It becomes important. Lowering changes suspension geometry, and a fixed factory arm leaves you unable to correct the camber that results, which chews tires. This FUCA is specifically valuable for anyone raising or lowering their vehicle because it restores the adjustment you need to bring the front back into spec. It is also included in the full High Performance Suspension Package for owners going all-in.
How is the Ultimate Edition FUCA different from just buying the ball joint?
The configurator offers both, and they serve different needs. The full Ultimate Edition set is the complete adjustable arm you buy once; the replacement pill/ball joint is the service part you order later when that wear component needs freshening. Buy the set to gain front adjustment. Buy the replacement joint down the road to keep the set performing.
What can I actually tune with front camber, caster, and toe?
Three real outcomes: grip, range, and tire wear. More front camber sharpens turn-in for track work; a milder setting protects tire life and helps efficiency on the highway. Caster and toe fine-tune steering feel and stability on top of that. This arm lets you optimize wheel and tire fitment and geometry for whichever of those goals matters to you at the time.
Why can’t I adjust front camber on a stock Model X?
Because the factory front upper control arm is a fixed, non-adjustable part. It gives you no way to set alignment up front, which becomes a real problem the moment you lower the car or want to correct tire wear. This Ultimate Edition FUCA replaces that arm with a fully adjustable one, so front geometry finally comes into your hands. That single change unlocks the whole front alignment.
What is the patented camber pill and what does it do?
It is a quick-change adjustment mechanism, protected under U.S. Patent No. 11,926,362, that lets an installer dial camber fast and repeatably. Instead of fighting the arm to find a setting, the technician turns the pill and locks it in. That speed matters when you are switching between a street and a track alignment. It is one of the reasons this arm is easy for alignment shops to get exactly right.
Will upgrading my brakes void the Tesla warranty?
Tesla’s warranty covers factory-installed parts, but it does not automatically void your warranty if you install aftermarket components like Unplugged Performance brake kits. Under U.S. law (Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act), Tesla must prove that an aftermarket part caused a failure in order to deny warranty coverage. Our parts are engineered to work harmoniously with Tesla OEM Brake systems and can be professionally installed by Unplugged Performance in Hawthorne, CA or by an authorized installer to minimize risk. That said, any damage directly caused by misuse or improper installation may not be covered. We recommend retaining all factory parts so you can revert to stock if needed. Many Tesla owners enjoy peace of mind by using Unplugged Performance products, which are extensively tested and installed by certified professionals. If warranty concerns are top-of-mind, our team can help clarify compatibility and installation best practices to ensure a worry-free experience.
What does the Unplugged Performance product warranty cover?
Unplugged Performance offers a comprehensive warranty on all parts and installations performed by our certified technicians. Warranty coverage applies to defects in materials and workmanship on items including lowering springs, coilovers, big brake kits, brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, shocks, and more. Should any covered part fail under normal use or display premature wear, we will repair or replace it at no additional cost—assuming the component was installed by us or at one of our authorized partners.
This warranty is valid for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, excluding consumable products like brake pads, rotors, and tires, starting from the installation date. Coverage extends to labor for warranty repairs when performed by Unplugged Performance or an authorized installer. It does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidents, off‑road use, improper installation not done by us, or modifications that aren’t factory-approved.
To file a warranty claim, simply contact our service team. We’ll guide you through inspection, shipping (if needed), and repair or replacement logistics. transparencia and top-tier support are what you can expect from Unplugged.
Will installing Unplugged Performance parts void my Tesla warranty?
Installing aftermarket parts does not automatically void your Tesla warranty. Under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act (www.sema.org/sema-enews/2011/01/ftc-validates-right-to-install-aftermarket-parts), a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you installed aftermarket parts. Tesla must prove that the aftermarket part caused the specific failure in question to deny a warranty claim. UP recommends retaining all factory parts to allow reverting to stock if needed.Â
