The UP-RW (Cyber Road Warrior) is the next evolution of the Road Warrior legacy. After establishing the UP-RW as the most durable and range-efficient wheel solution ever created for the Model 3 and Model Y, our engineering team set out to build a Cybertruck-specific version that combines strength, aerodynamic benefits, and real-world practicality in a single, forged 20-inch wheel for the mission profile of the Tesla Cybertruck.

The result is a wheel that marries the proven Road Warrior design language which is beloved by thousands of Tesla owners, with an entirely new structural backbone engineered expressly for the Cybertruck platform. Featuring a super-strong forged 6061-T6 aluminum construction, the UP-RW delivers a massive 1450kg load rating, far beyond what cast factory wheels can support. Where the Cybertruck’s stock wheels are cast, the UP-RW is forged, offering significantly higher resistance to bending, cracking, and fatigue cycles (a critical need for a vehicle as heavy and as capable as the Cybertruck). With over 6,800 lbs of curb weight and substantial torque on demand, a forged wheel isn’t just a luxury upgrade; it’s a smart, durability-focused investment for long-term ownership.

Forged Strength for a Heavy-Duty Electric Truck

Forged wheels are created through extreme pressure and heat, compressing the aluminum grain structure into a denser, far stronger form. Cast wheels, like those found on Cybertrucks from the factory, are shaped by pouring molten metal into a mold, leaving behind microscopic voids, inconsistencies, and brittleness under high load. On a vehicle as heavy as the Cybertruck, forged wheels provide exponentially better resistance to potholes, off-road impacts, towing stress, and everyday city driving punishment.

At just 31.9 lbs (14.47 kgs), the UP-RW strikes an optimum balance between strength and weight, shedding unnecessary mass without compromising structural integrity. Lighter, stronger wheels translate directly to better handling, improved efficiency, and reduced unsprung mass.

A Replaceable Outer Ring Means Peace of Mind

Like the original UP-RW, the UP-RW features a sacrificial aluminum outer ring, designed to take the beating instead of the wheel itself. Curb rash, one of the most common and costly annoyances for Tesla owners, is now a thing of the past. If a driver accidentally grazes a curb, the replaceable outer ring absorbs the damage. It can be swapped out easily, preserving the integrity and appearance of the wheel underneath.

This alone dramatically reduces long-term ownership costs and gives Cybertruck owners the confidence to park, maneuver, and drive daily without fear of cosmetic damage becoming a permanent, expensive problem.

Born From Range Efficiency Science

The Road Warrior name began with a mission: create wheels that solve durability challenges without sacrificing range. For the Model 3 and Model Y, the UP-RW proved to be one of the most aerodynamic aftermarket wheels ever tested: outperforming the open 20-inch OEM Performance wheel by 12.3% less drag and just matching Tesla’s efficient 18-inch Photon wheel.

The UP-RW Cybertruck Road Warrior was built on that same foundation and validated through real-world testing. To benchmark its aero performance, we took three identical Cybertruck Dual Motor Long Range vehicles to the High Desert region of Southern California for a controlled, real-world range comparison. Each truck ran the same tire pressures, same battery state, same occupants, and the same build configuration. The only variable was the wheel:

• Truck #2: Core Wheel (most efficient factory wheel)
• Truck #3: All-new UP-RW Cybertruck Road Warrior

Over a full out-and-back course (Victorville to Yermo and back), the data told a clear story. The UP-RW performed exactly as intended, delivering range efficiency on par with Tesla’s Core Wheel and slightly better than the Cyberwheel.

Just like the UP-RW, the UP-RW uses a flat-face aerodynamic profile, inspired by Tesla’s own aero cover philosophy but executed in a fully forged structure rather than a plastic overlay. This shape reduces turbulence and keeps airflow attached to the wheel surface at speed, helping maintain the truck’s real-world range even with a stronger, more durable wheel.

This means Cybertruck drivers can upgrade to a forged wheel without taking a range penalty. In many conditions, efficiency may even improve, depending on driving style, speed, tire selection, and use case.

Every UP-RW wheel features direct OEM tire compatibility, allowing Cybertruck owners to transfer their factory 20-inch tires directly onto the new wheels during installation. No new tire purchase is required, simplifying the upgrade experience and reducing cost.
