Standard Model 3 front lower suspension arms equipped with rubber bushings are prone to wear and often end up requiring replacement. This wear is accelerated by the enormous power, weight and grip of the Tesla Model 3.
There’s a reason a better solution has not existed until now. It is extremely expensive to develop because it requires a new arm and multiple new bushings already preinstalled. After many years testing at the Nurburgring, at Pikes Peak and on daily driven streets we’ve made the necessary investment to bring a comprehensive solution that is easy to install and has a revised approach to all bushings in the arms.
The Unplugged Performance Front Lower Lateral Fore and Compliance Aft Control Arms are full OEM-spec control arm replacements that feature upgraded spherical bushings throughout, already mounted in them for easy and low-cost installation. Developed and tested at Pikes Peak Hill Climb in our Dark Helmet race car, these arms and bushings are designed to eliminate bushing deflection for improved driving performance and comfort, and to maintain proper suspension geometry.
Elevate your Tesla Model 3 performance and precision with Unplugged Performance Front Lower Lateral Fore and Compliance Aft Control Arms with Spherical Bushings. These meticulously engineered components are essential for anyone with worn bushings or for those looking for more precision out of their driving experience. These front lower arms feature aircraft-grade spherical bushings (sealed ball joints) and high-quality rubber bushings pressed into OEM-quality aluminum arms to enhance precision where it matters most while minimizing vibrations and noise. These arms and bushings were developed for everyday street use and were proven to withstand the intense conditions of extreme track use and even Pikes Peak Hill Climb in our race car, Dark Helmet.
Improve street and track driving precision. Upgrading from the OEM rubber bushings to sealed spherical bushings provides laser-like precision in the steering and handling feel of the Model 3. These arms and spherical bushing eliminate any numb feeling in the steering. Even worse, worn bushings can result in sloppy steering and handling. Whether you’re engaging in manual driving or utilizing self-driving modes, precise steering and chassis response reduces the need for constant corrections, delivering a more seamless and efficient driving experience. The result is less fatigue and smoother travel, meaning there is more comfort and more stability. Regardless of whether you’re behind the wheel or enjoying the ride as a passenger, you’ll appreciate the enhanced experience.
Replace your worn out bushings. Tesla’s factory bushings utilize a soft rubber that we’ve found wear out in as little as 30,000-50,000 miles causing annoying knocking and creaking noises as well as slop and play in the steering. Excessive wear of the bushings can lead to unintended wheel movements with even the slightest forces, causing hazardous driving conditions and unpredictable handling. It can also result in excessive tire wear. The Unplugged Performance Front Lower Lateral Fore and Compliance Aft Control Arms with Spherical Bushings solve this issue as a quick and easy full arm replacement. Our arms are meticulously crafted with cast aluminum cores and shaped through precision assembly to ensure a heightened driving experience.
We’ve simplified and upgraded the solution for you. Replacement options until now typically include a direct replacement with the same equipment ultimately resulting in the same outcome. Alternatively, some aftermarket solutions may address the replacement inner bushings, however that does not address the outer bushings or ball bushings. Additionally, pressing in bushings can be a very expensive installation. We offer a full arm replacement that replaces and upgrades every associated bushing, including the ball joints which must be inserted during the arm’s casting process. All this extra development is to give you a simplified and the most-thorough solution. Another benefit is that this arm can easily be installed in the comfort of your own garage or driveway if you choose to and are so equipped. Alternatively, it requires significantly less labor hours for shops to install, and thus less installation costs for you.
Improve premature and uneven tire wear. With a spherical bushing your Tesla can be aligned with unparalleled accuracy. Your tires will follow your intended path by eliminating micro fore and aft bushing maneuverability mitigating unwanted tear wear.
The Front Lower Lateral Fore Arms are located at the front lower suspension and connect the hub to the subframe while also being the lower anchoring point for the strut assembly. They incorporate 2 new spherical bushings or bearings and 1 new ball joint.
The Front Lower Compliance Aft Arms are located at the front lower suspension and connect the hub to the subframe at the most rearward position in the front suspension. They incorporate 1 new spherical bushing or bearing and 1 new spherical ball joint.
Note: A proper alignment is highly recommended after installing these arms and bushings

Why is my Tesla Model 3 knocking or creaking over bumps?
The usual culprit is worn rubber bushings in the front lower suspension arms. The Model 3’s power and grip accelerate bushing wear, and we have seen the soft factory rubber wear out in as little as 30,000 to 50,000 miles. Symptoms show up as knocking, creaking, and steering slop. Replacing the arms with upgraded spherical bushings fixes the noise and restores precise steering feel.
What is the advantage of spherical bushings over rubber?
Rubber bushings deflect under load, which Tesla uses for isolation but which lets suspension geometry wander during hard cornering and braking. A sealed spherical bushing pivots freely without deflecting, so the wheel follows its intended path and alignment holds. Steering sharpens noticeably. Our arms combine sealed spherical bearings with quality rubber where isolation matters, keeping vibration out of the cabin.
Which Model 3 years do these arms fit?
Published fitment covers Model 3 vehicles from 2018 through 2023, across trims. Two designs are offered: the Lateral Fore arms that connect hub to subframe and anchor the strut, and the Compliance Aft arms at the rearmost front suspension position. If you drive a 2024+ Model 3 Highland, check with our team before ordering, since the listed fitment is for the pre-refresh car.
What OEM Tesla parts do these replace?
They directly replace Tesla part TSLA-1044341-00-D for the front lower lateral fore links, plus TSLA-1044354-00-A and TSLA-1044359-00-A for the left and right front lower compliance aft links. Each pair ships fully assembled with spherical bushings and ball joints already pressed in, along with OEM-style locking nuts, so they install as complete OEM-spec replacements rather than rebuild projects.
Do I need the fore arms, the aft arms, or both?
It depends which bushings failed and what you want from the car. The Lateral Fore arms carry two spherical bushings and a ball joint each and anchor the strut, so they influence steering feel most directly. The Compliance Aft arms sit rearmost with one spherical bushing and one spherical ball joint, controlling fore-aft wheel movement. High-mileage cars usually benefit from doing both. Precision-focused drivers should run the full set.
Can I install these control arms myself?
Yes. This is one of the more approachable Model 3 suspension jobs because every bushing and ball joint arrives pressed in, so there is no press work, which is exactly what makes bushing-only replacements expensive at a shop. The arms bolt in place of the originals in a home garage. Schedule an alignment afterward. Shops quote fewer labor hours too, lowering installed cost.
Full replacement arms versus pressing new bushings into stock arms?
Full arms win on completeness and labor. Pressed-in aftermarket bushings usually address only the inner positions, leaving outer bushings and ball joints untouched, and the press work itself adds shop cost fast. Our arms replace every wear point in one bolt-on step, including ball joints that must be inserted during casting. If you only want bushings, we offer a separate front lower control arm spherical bushing set.
Will these arms fix uneven tire wear on my Model 3?
They help when the wear comes from bushing deflection. With spherical bushings the car can be aligned with far greater accuracy, and it holds that alignment under load, so tires track the intended path instead of scrubbing through micro-movements. Worn bushings also allow unintended wheel motion that chews tire shoulders. Fix the deflection and the alignment stops chasing itself. Worn upper ball joints compound the problem, and we offer a ball joint replacement for those.
Are these control arms track capable?
They were developed and proven at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in Dark Helmet, our Model 3 race car, with additional testing at the Nurburgring and years of daily street miles. You receive that same hardware. They are built into our Stage 3 RS suspension package for exactly this reason: geometry that holds under maximum load.
Will spherical bushings make my Model 3 loud or harsh?
No. These arms pair sealed spherical bearings with quality rubber where compliance is wanted, specifically to add precision without adding cabin noise or harshness. The sealed construction keeps grit out, which is what makes cheap open sphericals clunk after a winter. Owners typically report the opposite of harshness: a quieter front end than their worn factory arms ever gave them.
What does the Unplugged Performance product warranty cover?
Unplugged Performance offers a comprehensive warranty on all parts and installations performed by our certified technicians. Warranty coverage applies to defects in materials and workmanship on items including lowering springs, coilovers, big brake kits, brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, shocks, and more. Coverage extends to labor for warranty repairs when performed by Unplugged Performance or an authorized installer. It does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidents, off‑road use, improper installation not done by us, or modifications that aren’t factory-approved.
To file a warranty claim, simply contact our service team. We’ll guide you through inspection, shipping (if needed), and repair or replacement logistics. transparencia and top-tier support are what you can expect from Unplugged.
Will installing Unplugged Performance parts void my Tesla warranty?
Installing aftermarket parts does not automatically void your Tesla warranty. Under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act (www.sema.org/sema-enews/2011/01/ftc-validates-right-to-install-aftermarket-parts), a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you installed aftermarket parts. Tesla must prove that the aftermarket part caused the specific failure in question to deny a warranty claim. UP recommends retaining all factory parts to allow reverting to stock if needed.
What are the shipping options and times?
Unplugged Performance processes orders quickly, typically within 1–2 business days after placement. For U.S. customers, orders under $50 usually ship via FedEx SmartPost with an estimated delivery time of 2–7 business days. Larger items like body kits or bumpers may ship via freight carriers with curbside delivery; customers will be contacted to schedule a delivery window.
