Our advanced Model X Plaid suspension development and racing kicked off in June 2021 with our race car Dark Helmet as we set out to develop the ultimate performance handling Model S. The results have followed as we brought home to the Tesla community a Pikes Peak class victory and multiple production based EV lap records with our development race car. In the months that followed we’ve gone into production with a premium range of suspension components that can be purchased individually or as a comprehensive lineup depending on the goals of each driver. All of our suspension development begins with precision 3D scanning of the car’s suspension to develop a working digital model, then followed by real-world racing and street use internally on our company vehicles before roll out to the public.
