Cybertruck is a truly powerful vehicle that pushes the boundaries. It strikes people at first sight, regardless of whether they have heard of it before. Its futuristic design, which can be further customized after purchase, outshines any other vehicle nearby. Undoubtedly, the appearance of Cybertruck is its calling card, but the functions it is equipped with are truly amazing.
Recently, the electric pickup truck was spotted on a Gulf Coast beach in Port Aransas, Texas. It was tested in sand and salt water, and a video of this was posted by Reddit user u/ilyasgnnndmr. The Cybertruck moved smoothly and unhindered on the sand and its wheels did not slip. After driving through the sand, it went into seawater. The Cybertruck plunged into it to a quarter of the height of the wheel and began to pick up speed, splashing water on the sides. After a short ride on the water, the vehicle pulled out and left the beach, leaving the public in awe.
This test demonstrated that Cybertruck can be used for outdoor activities, including a trip to the beach. While the vast majority of owners would not drive into the sand, much less seawater, having a pickup truck capable of doing so if necessary is very useful. For example, Cybertruck can deliver a boat or jet ski directly to the beach and launch it into the water. This capability may be one of the deciding factors for some consumers.
Perhaps Tesla brought Cybertruck to the beach in order to attract the public’s attention before the first deliveries begin. However, there is a high probability that the manufacturer is seeking to further test the strength of the truck. Saltwater and sand are a challenge for any vehicle, so understanding how driving through them might impact Cybertruck can provide an opportunity to improve it.
In September 2022, Elon Musk said that Cybertruck would be able to serve as a boat for some time. He also added that the pickup truck may be able to “get from Starbase to South Padre Island, which requires crossing the channel.” At the time, many were skeptical, but who knows what Cybertruck will actually be capable of?
“Cybertruck will be waterproof enough to serve briefly as a boat, so it can cross rivers, lakes & even seas that aren’t too choppy,” Musk wrote on X. “Needs [to] be able to get from Starbase to South Padre Island, which requires crossing the channel,” he added. The Tesla CEO also added in a later post: “You’d need an electric propeller mounted on the tow hitch to go faster than a few knots. There might [be] a creative wheel hub design that can generate meaningful thrust.”
So far, many of Cybertruck’s characteristics remain a mystery. However, it is expected that we will be able to learn more detailed information about it at the Cybertruck Delivery Event, which will take place on November 30 at the Texas Gigafactory.
