Q: Can I use spacers instead of different wheels?
Yes! You definitely can. It is very common in the automotive enthusiast market to use wheel spacers to improve the aesthetics of their vehicle, but also to increase the overall track width of the vehicle, which in turn can improve overall vehicle stability. The potential drawbacks of choosing spacers over aftermarket wheels with a different offset are that you will be adding unsprung rotational weight to each wheel, and possibly adding additional points of failure if a studded spacer is used. UP forged wheels are in many cases both lighter and stronger than the factory Tesla wheel configurations, while offering robust load ratings without compromise. Plus, they look incredible! People often ask about safety, handling, and legality of wheel spacers. What a difference this sway bar made to my Model S Plaid. This helps correct the body roll the car has from the factory. I have much more confidence taking turns at a higher speed, and freeway on-ramps have become extremely fun. I would highly recommend upgrading your sway bar in the Model S!
