Forging compresses the aluminum grain into a denser, stronger structure, so a 6061-T6 forged wheel handles the instant torque and heavy braking of an EV with less flex than cast. The CYBRHEX also uses knurled barrel beads, a machined texture on the bead seat that helps keep the tire from slipping on the rim during hard launches.
