Q: What is this parachute mount made of?
It is made from mild steel with a durable black powder coating, and it was CAD developed and made in the USA. Mild steel with powder coat is the right call for a part that lives at the rear of the car and takes the load of a deploying chute, since it needs strength and corrosion resistance. The CAD development is why it integrates cleanly with the factory Plaid rear.
