Stock DOT 4 will function for gentle driving, but it boils sooner under the heat a heavy, fast Model S generates, and boiled fluid gives you a long, soft pedal right when you need bite. That undercuts what the pads can do. Flush in a high-temperature racing fluid instead, such as Motul RBF 660, PFC RH 665, Endless RF 650, or Castrol SRF, and the pedal stays firm when the system gets hot.
