It is very common in the automotive enthusiast market to use wheel spacers to improve the aesthetics of their vehicle, but also to increase the overall track width of the vehicle, which in turn can improve overall vehicle stability. The potential drawbacks of choosing spacers over aftermarket wheels with a different offset are that you will be adding unsprung rotational weight to each wheel, and possibly adding additional points of failure if a studded spacer is used. Essential upgrade for Model S and especially a Gen 1 which has excess rear negative camber which contributes to significant uneven tire wear.
Combine that with a proper Unplugged alignment and your Model S will be driving better than it did from the factory.

Coupled with the FUCAs, the rear arms really help do a proper alignment. Definitely get these if you want to get a perfect alignment for your car, and better than OEM.
