Q: Do lowering springs really improve range on a Tesla?

Lowering the car reduces aerodynamic drag, and drag is a major energy cost at highway speed. Our aero study measured up to an 8.1 percent reduction in total vehicle drag on the Moderate spring setup. Less drag means the motor works less to hold speed, which helps efficiency on the highway. It is a real, measured figure rather than a vague claim, and it is one reason the Moderate drop is the recommended setting.
