Q: How strong are the UP-02 forged wheels?

Strong. Each is machined from 6061-T6 forged aluminum with an overbuilt load rating of 900 kg, nearly 2,000 lb per wheel, so it comfortably handles the high torque and weight of the Model Y. The barrel also uses knurled bead seats, a textured band that grips the tire bead to keep it from slipping under hard acceleration or sudden braking. It is a light wheel that does not trade away toughness to get there.
